Unreal Engine Generalist

Ingenuity Studios is searching for an experienced Unreal Generalist. The right candidate will combine their technical skills and artistic abilities to create previz and photorealistic environments for episodic work and features. Working with the director and creative directors, the Artist takes scripts and storyboards and creates compelling shots with appropriate use of composition, camera movement, lenses, and animation.

Responsibilities:

• Design and create shots in Unreal Engine 4 from scripts and/or storyboards, using cinematic language to tell a story
• Create sequences that will require the animation of characters, props, and cameras
• Use motion blur, depth of field, and other effects to simulate real cameras in UE4
• Understand cinematic language and camera terminology
• Work with a director and our team of artists to create high quality videos on extremely tight timelines

Requirements:

• Experience with Unreal Engine 4, specifically with Sequencer, Post Process Effects, lighting, materials, and optimization.
• Experience with Autodesk Maya, 3ds Max, Cinema 4D, or Blender
• Understanding of how to prep models for Unreal and import/export assets.
• Possess a strong sense of composition and color, with an intuitive understanding of the line of action
• Experience using motion capture and animation to tell a story, and an inherent understanding of animation timing
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a close team environment
• Knowledge of real world cameras, and an intuitive understanding of focal length, camera sensors, and depth of field
• Hands on experience with still photography or film
• Organized and detail-oriented

Preferred Skills

• Understanding of Blueprints, Python and or C++
• Experience building UI interfaces in UMG
• Experience with Real-Time FX with Niagra
• Virtual Production experience and understanding
• VR/AR experience
