UPCOMING: Staff Accountant

With teams, customers, and end users worldwide, we face an unprecedented and ambitious challenge: scaling an independent Voice AI globally. The Staff Accountant is crucial to our success in this mission by ensuring SoundHound has needed stable, accurate billings and monthly/quarterly/annual close processes in place to scale and expand our global reach. You will be an integral member of operational accounting, including G/L accounting, accounts payable, month/quarter/year-end closes, and period-close related tasks.

This role can be worked remotely throughout the Pacific time zone in the United States. Office and hybrid workplace options are available if you live near our Santa Clara, CA headquarters. The salary range for this position is $56,000 to $85,000. Our recruiting team will provide a more specific salary range based on location and years of experience. In addition to salary, you will receive equity (RSUs), comprehensive healthcare, paid time off, and other benefits.

• Assist in daily general ledger operations
• Assist with monthly close process and reconciliations such as accrued expenses, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, lease accounting, various assets and liabilities, and record journal entries for foreign subsidiaries
• Execute roll forward schedules on month/quarter/year-end on various balance sheet accounts, be able to reconcile and explain variances
• Perform the full cycle of accounts payable, including vendor set up, PO creation, 2-way or 3-way PO matching, enter vendor invoices in ERP system or other 3rd party A/P software
• Help with implementation and testing of third-party A/P software
• Record and reconcile credit card transactions
• Collaborate with FP&A, A/P, and other cross-functional departments to ensure completeness of accruals
• Support scaling our processes through automation by working on system implementations and enhancements
• Contribute to the implementation, maintenance, and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP
• Maintain excellent accounting records and assist with quarterly review and year-end audit
• Perform other ad hoc accounting activities when needed

• You have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and 1 to 3 years of relevant experience
• You have basic ERP system experience
• You have an active CPA license (highly preferred), or you are a CPA candidate
• You have a track record of independently applying accounting principles and procedures
• You are adept with account reconciliations and investigating unusual or significant differences
• You are obsessively detail-oriented and leave nothing to chance
• You are flexible to work with teams before the establishment of mature processes
• You have the desire to identify and help improve accounting processes, controls, and products
• You are highly proficient with Excel
• You have experience working in NetSuite
• You have strong analytical, organizational, and oral and written communication skills
• You have experience with accounting/financial reporting at a SaaS company
