Your role:

This dynamic and challenging role, in the healthcare software industry, in an important position within Baxter's Care Communications Care Communications Division. The Upgrade Project Manager (UPM) is a field-based role within the PMO Excellence organization. The UPM is responsible for the planning, coordination, documentation, and execution of upgrade projects to Baxter's Care Communication customer base. Key activities include project planning, resource allocation and coordination, project risk assessment and mitigation, customer communication and internal stakeholder management.

What you will be doing:

  • Act with autonomy as the primary point of contact for all client project related needs during an upgrade project
  • Project planning & execution
  • Utilize project management software, conduct regular meetings, provide agendas and meeting minutes, and create and maintain project plans.
  • Adhere to established PMO standards
  • Provide strong, proactive, project leadership. Drive follow-ups.
  • Manage project scope and deliverables across multiple, concurrent engagements.
  • Continually assess and reprioritize defined sequence tasks, within aggressive schedules, through individual effort and coordination of the work of others.
  • Track all required project metrics, i.e., customer deliverables.
  • Deploy customer specific communication strategy to achieve desired results.
  • Resource & vendor management.
  • Product expertise
  • Meet or exceed established PMO metrics
  • Host status meetings.
  • Translate technical information from technical, to non-technical resources to meet project requirements
  • Occasionally take on other duties as needed and assigned by PMO Excellence leadership
  • Customer and stakeholder management
  • Proactively identify, communicate, and resolve customer issues.
  • Consult with customers and Baxter sales team, clinical, implementation and engineering as needed throughout the project
  • Travel 0-20%.

What you need:

  • Bachelor's degree, or in healthcare, IT, business, or related industry,
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in IT project management; preferably with external customer projects.
  • History working within customers' IT departments. Ability to discuss networking, virtual server deployments, IT security concerns, remote connectivity, and software deployment methodology.
  • Health care environment experience desired.
  • PMP or other industry related certification(s) a plus.
  • Experience with consultative project management approach.
  • Demonstrated success with strategic planning.
  • Aptitude for synthesizing broad information into concise actionable plans.
  • Recognized leadership abilities with positive and self-motivated attitude.
  • Ability to facilitate, manage and motivate large, diverse groups without direct line authority.
  • Proven capable of interactions with customer's 'C' level management, and Hillrom senior management.
  • Proven ability to successfully communicate critical instruction, both written and verbal.
  • Positive and self-motivated attitude and ability to work through complex issues, customer politics, and personalities.
  • Technical aptitude, i.e., general understanding of basic networking and server concepts.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. To that end, this position has a base salary range of $60,000 to $132,000 plus an annual incentive bonus. The above range represents the expected base salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic/office location.
