The RN Specialty serves the patient, the physician and other staff members by assisting in the delivery of specialty health care and patient care management.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatments
  • Provide patient education and answer questions related to specialty procedures and diagnoses
  • Perform nurse triage related to the specialty
  • Maintain the patient file, records and other information comprehensively
  • Incorporate nursing theory to deliver patient care
  • Perform selected nursing and administrative duties
  • Prepare patients for examination and treatment. Take patient history and vital signs
  • Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments
  • Give injections and apply splints and dressings
  • Assist physicians in preparing for and performing minor surgeries and procedures
  • May be responsible for disclosing results of diagnostic work to patients following the physician's results and answering questions
  • Maintain strictest confidentiality
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate of accredited nursing school
  • Current Oregon RN license
  • Healthcare provider level BLS/CPR certification or the ability to obtain certification within 30 days of employment
  • 1+ years of professional nursing experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in relevant specialty
  • Experience with an electronic medical record system
