Senior Fullstack Engineer: React/Next.js + GraphQL/AppSync
(+/- 2 hours CST)

Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a strong Senior Fullstack Engineer with the availability to work on a large enterprise faith-based publishing and e-commerce client. The ideal candidate is a fullstack developer proficient in working in React/Next.js as well as in GraphQL/AppSync in order to integrate with Commerce microservices and other APIs.

This position is a fully remote 1099 role with an initial 6-month contract requiring a max of 40 hours per week. The rate range for this position is $70 - 95 per hour. The ideal candidate would be contract-to-hire and interested in a full-time role on the client team long term.

In your day-to-day work you’ll be working alongside our client’s engineering team to design and implement solutions that will integrate the backend services into their Next.js website using GraphQL/AppSync while also helping to create reusable React Components.

Requirements for the Role
  • 4+ years' professional experience using React Next.js GraphQL TypeScript
  • AWS (Amazon Web Services) or other cloud technology experience including AWS Lambdas AWS AppSync AWS CloudFront AWS CDK
  • Experience with unit/integration testing
  • Experience with Contentful or similar headless CMS provider
  • Git GitHub experience
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced analytical critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines exchange knowledge with colleagues and be up-to-date with new trends
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment
  • Experience converting user stories into technical tasks and documenting those in project management software
  • Experience working in a remote team-based environment

Nice to Have
  • Experience with NoSQL databases (DynamoDB) and data modeling a plus
  • Experience writing in server-side applications built in Scala or NodeJS
  • Experience integrating with a CMS/Search provider (Algolia) a plus
  • Experience with Kubernetes a plus
