About Our Team

Cross River’s team is made up of problem solvers hungry to build and perfect new products and systems. We work with team members in most US time zones. Although we are in separate places, we still make space to know one another and have fun! We collaborate, help and mentor each other, and check in on our progress and blocks frequently. We work together primarily with Slack, GitHub, JIRA, and Zoom.

What We’re Looking for

The US Director of Security Engineering is a critical role for Cross River and will report to the Head Security Officer. Under the direction of the Chief Security Information Officer, the US Director of Security Engineering will perform key security engineering tasks that include the implementation and improvement of system security controls as well as design digital security protocols to protect sensitive information. The US Head of Security Engineering will also work with business and technology to assure tool adoption, control adherence, and provide ongoing support.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Develop, execute, and track the performance of security measures to protect information and network infrastructure and computer systems.
• Design computer security strategy and engineer comprehensive cybersecurity architecture.
• Design application security controls to align with application architecture
• Identify, define, and document system security requirements and recommend solutions to management.
• Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain security infrastructure software and hardware.
• Install software that monitors systems and networks for security breaches and intrusions.
• Monitor systems for irregular behavior and set up preventive measures.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or master’s in computer science, MIS, or Management

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or a related field
• Industry certifications: CISSP, S+, SANS Certifications
• Five or more years’ work experience as a System Security Engineer or related position
• Proven experience developing, operating, and maintaining security systems
• Extensive knowledge of operating system and database security
• Proficiency in networking technologies, network security and network monitoring solutions. Knowledge of cloud and encryption technologies.
• Knowledge of security systems including anti-virus applications, content filtering, firewalls, authentication systems and intrusion detection and notification systems
• In-depth knowledge of security protocols and principles
• Critical thinking skills and ability to solve complex problems

Salary Range: $170,000-$200,000
