Job Description

Hudson River Trading (HRT) is hiring a Collateral Trader on our PostTrade team with a focus on US markets. The position offers outstanding room for growth and the unique opportunity to be exposed to the inner workings of a highly successful automated trading firm. We are looking for someone who enjoys taking on challenging problems and wants to make an immediate, tangible impact.

The right candidate will be an enthusiastic learner with a background in finance and an interest in securities financing and automated trading. In this role, you can always expect to be challenged by the ever-changing financial markets and find yourself solving interesting problems in an extremely fast-paced, real-time environment.

Responsibilities 

  • Effectively manage and support the development of HRT’s collateral management platform.
  • Optimize and upgrade existing inventory utilizing a wide range of products (listed, bilateral, tri-party, etc.).
  • Margin calculation and verification.
  • Daily communication with counterparties, prime brokers, internal traders, and various internal operations support teams across multiple regions.
  • Optimize efficiencies across prime brokers and HRT entities to reduce costs and capital usage.
  • Support trading across new markets and products.
  • Document processes and procedures.

Skills

  • 5 - 8+ years experience working in US securities financing.
  • Strong knowledge of the global collateral construct a significant positive.
  • Knowledge of cross-asset collateral is a significant positive.
  • Knowledge of the post-trade life cycle of equities, treasuries, futures, FX, and/or options.
  • Experience with external relationship management, including technology vendors, prime brokers, banks, etc.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to exercise good judgment and proactive decision-making in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with internal and external parties around the world.
  • Proven ability to maintain composure in stressful situations.
  • A strong attention to detail and drive to maintain accuracy while processing large amounts of information within a specific timeline.

Annual base salary range of $150,000 to $200,000. Pay (base and bonus) may vary depending on job-related skills and experience. A sign-on and discretionary performance bonus may be provided as part of the total compensation package, in addition to company-paid medical and/or other benefits.
