POSITION SUMMARY
Aptiv is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented US Payroll Specialist to join our team. The US Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing payroll accurately and in compliance with federal and state regulations, ensuring employees are compensated in a timely and precise manner. This role requires expertise in payroll processing, tax compliance, and a strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Payroll Processing
- Direct the ADP Managed Services Team processing the three payroll areas in the US - weekly (hourly), semi-monthly (salaried) and monthly (salaried)
- Process EPIP (timekeeping) files in ADP eTime for each hourly and salaried payroll and address errors that occur during the load into GlobalView
- Advance payroll tickets through all steps up to approval of final payroll and manage issues that may arise during any stage
- Engage with plant staffs for hourly payrolls and inform ADP of any issues or delays
- Coordinate with Payroll Administrator to ensure all known issues are addressed before final approval
- Back up Payroll Administrator as needed on certain payroll tasks including but not limited to:
- Daily audit of integration file from HRIS to payroll
- Formatting of weekly (Hourly) payroll reports and delivery to Plant Payroll Coordinators
- Pre & post payroll audits for Semi-monthly & monthly payrolls
- Payroll data entry to include terminations, inpat hires, Tax exemption entries, hourly long term disability tax overrides, one time payments/deductions, etc.
Employee Payments
- Monitor pre-note failures, bank rejects and deleted direct deposits and provide details to HR Reps to communicate to employees
- Manage stop payment and void requests from HR Reps and employees
- Make replacement payments via MoneyNetwork checks or with next pay as needed via GlobalView
- Maintain MoneyNetwork check log / balance and request funding for account as required
- Monitor uncashed check report / stale dated checks and replace payments as needed
Employee Wage Garnishments
- Complete employee information requests from states / agencies for garnishment orders
- Monitor ADP garnishment refunds and enter as applicable in GlobalView
- Identify employees receiving one time payments and request additional arrears garnishments from applicable states / agencies
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Prepare and submit monthly payment requests for Union Dues and Hourly PAC deductions via AFC_GOI and semi-monthly deposits to CRA via wire requests.
- Prepare semi-yearly wage reports for Treasury to support workers compensation analysis and reporting
- Prepare quarterly report for FICA exempt F-1 visa employees , distribute email notification to applicable employees and follow up on questions / issues
- Assist with calculation of employee repayment amounts and maintain log of repayments made by check. Make entries in GlobalView as needed to reflect repayments.
- Make manual entries in GlobalView for US Payroll Manager for business travel, off-cycles and other adjustments
- Manage Concur Expense Reporting employee repayment process. Receive and track payments and submit payments to Finance for deposit.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associates degree in related field preferred
- Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of payroll experience.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and basic math skills.
- Must be detail-oriented and thorough.
- Must have the ability to meet time-sensitive deadlines; prioritize assignments, and provide follow-up as required.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
- Must be proficient with computers and demonstrated skills in office applications such as MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Intermediate proficiency with MS Excel preferred.
- Be able to work independently with little oversight and guidelines.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred, but not required.
- SAP software experience in a manufacturing environment is highly desired.
