(USA) Principal Software Engineer

Position Summary...
What you'll do...
This role is responsible for the technical strategy to commercialize Walmart's Post-of-Sale (POS) solution for sale to small business and enterprise clients. In this role, you will help drive the next retail disruption by helping solve unmet market needs, driving down cost, and increasing agility in the POS market.

Our team works closely with our US stores and eCommerce business to better serve customers by empowering team members, stores, and merchants with technological innovation. From groceries and entertainment to sporting goods and crafts, Walmart U.S. offers an extensive selection that our customers value, whether they shop online at Walmart.com, through one of our mobile apps, or in-store. Focus areas include customers, stores and employees, in-store service, merchant tools, merchant data science, and search and personalization.
What you'll do:

• Define the technical north star and long-term roadmap for Walmart's commercial POS product.
• Design major software components that enable the vision.
• Support and mentor lead engineers on software teams supporting commercialization.
• Influence technical strategy of partner teams to improve Walmart's commercial and internal software.

What you'll bring:

• Experience building large scale Software-as-a-Service products.
• Experience defining and executing 3-5 year visions for software solutions spanning 2-5 teams.
• Ability to evangelize and drive alignment on technical solutions to Directors, Sr. Directors, and VPs.
• Ability to mentor and influence Staff and Senior Engineers to lead exemplary teams.

The annual salary range for this position is $126,000.00-$216,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.
Additional compensation for certain positions may also include:
- Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location)
- Stock equity incentives
