(USA) Senior Manager II, Federal Government Affairs

Position Summary...
What you'll do...
The Senior Manager II, Federal Government Affairs is responsible for the day-to-day bipartisan lobbying of Congressional and administrative officials in assigned issue areas. In this role you will be called upon to influence legislation and regulations impacting Walmart's business from various perspectives - including operations, associates and customers - as driven by federal policy. Your responsibilities will include representing Walmart to third party organizations and relevant interest groups to achieve positive policy or regulatory outcomes on key issues; providing input on amendments and alternatives to legislative proposals; drafting testimony for Congressional hearings to be presented by appropriate company executives; preparing and submitting timely responses to Federal Register notices; optimizing outreach initiatives to drive corporate messaging and business priorities; engaging with trade associations, think-tanks, non-governmental organizations and coalitions for educational and advocacy purposes. You also may be assigned other important duties from time to time.
You'll make an impact by:

• Collaborating cross functionally with internal partners, including executive leadership, to serve customer needs and support business goals from a public policy perspective.
• Managing day-to-day engagement with government affairs consultants, trade associations and key stakeholders in Congress and the Administration.

• Directing and executing political giving, community and reputational strategies for the company.
• Communicating Walmart's priorities with external stakeholders; and communicating recommendations, strategies and progress with internal senior leaders.
• Advancing the company's position at industry and legislative events, conferences, public forums, committee hearings, and panels; preparing statements and testimony; presenting at issue panels and national conferences; and discussing emerging issues or pending legislation with internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborating with leadership to develop messaging to enhance the company's reputation.
• Working across the enterprise to solve business critical challenges.

• Timely and effective communications with key internal stakeholders.

You'll sweep us off our feet if ...

• You have 4+ years' experience on Capitol Hill or in public policy in the private or public sector; retail industry experience would be a plus.
• You have a teamwork mentality and effective communication skills, including public speaking, with the ability to influence key stakeholders

• You use objective financial and business analyses to evaluate the returns and risks of business choices resulting in making sound judgements
• You foster and promote a customer member focused environment
• Have a growth mindset and want to contribute while enhancing your skills

Travel - Frequent travel to and from Arkansas. Travels domestically and internationally with internal and external stakeholders.
