(USA) Senior Manager II, Software Engineering

Position Summary...
What you'll do...
As a Senior Engineering Manager on the Sam's Tech member desk team, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of back-end and platform engineers in building a suite of applications that will be used by Associates to support membership signups, renewals, upgrades and handle returns for our Members. You will partner closely with architects, Product, UX and Ops to ensure we build scalable, sustainable and stable products for our Associates and Members.

Sam's Club provides a carefully curated assortment of items, as well as developing and leading technologies and services such as Scan & Go, Club Pickup, and home delivery service in select markets. Sam's Club also provides travel, auto purchasing, pharmacy, optical, hearing aid centers, tire and battery centers, and a portfolio of business operations support services.
What you'll do:

• Provide guidance and lead a team of engineers to build quality software solutions for our Associates and Members that reduce waste and gain efficiency
• Ensure Software Quality Engineering by keeping the engineers up to date on best practices, automated code testing, alerts, reporting, and taking a proactive approach to production running app support.
• Develops and implements product development strategies using Agile development processes by using iterative and incremental development processes; collaborating between self-organizing, cross-functional teams for requirements and solutions; and promoting adaptive planning, evolutionary development and delivery for rapid and flexible response to change.
• Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating business plans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; identifying performance standards; measuring progress and adjusting performance; accordingly, developing contingency plans; and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning.
• Work closely with the Program and Product Manager, and Scrum Champion to ensure engineering work is pointed and prioritized correctly.

What you'll bring:

• Strong senior level engineering leadership expertise in medium to large size company.
• Prior back-end development experience in Java/NodeJS for customer facing applications at scale.
• Proven experience in hiring and mentoring world-class engineering teams.
• Leading large scale systems in fast-paced environments.
• Experience in one or more public cloud technologies like GCP, Azure, etc
• Experience in working in large teams using CI/CD and agile methodologies.
• Excellent oral and verbal communication skills.
• BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 12+ years of industry experience

The annual salary range for this position is $126,000.00-$216,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.
Additional compensation for certain positions may also include:
- Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location)
- Stock equity incentives
Minimum Qualifications...
