User Experience Designer

Description

The ideal candidate will be a creative, analytical, and out-of-the-box thinker. They are team players who are comfortable collaborating with graphic designers, web architects, and clients. Must be comfortable researching, conceptualizing, designing, and delivering applications more usable and user-friendly.

Responsibilities

• Support product strategy and direction of product design and development
• Partner with key project team members to ensure high-quality user experience, user functionality, design, development, maintenance, and enhancements
• Conduct market research
• Gather user and product-line requirements
• Create wireframe mockups of product user interfaces
• Create prototypes of product user interfaces
• Manage the product work queue and backlog
• Work with business teams to develop or modify processes, supporting post-launch change management efforts, as needed.
• Align product direction with corporate strategies and branding guidelines
• Design information hierarchies and wireframes by organizing content and creating user journeys
• Complete and accurate analytics tags to measure digital properties from a user experience lens
• Monitor digital assets for trends through analytics
• Develop relevant performance metrics; establish accurate and comprehensive digital analytics; track and share performance results
• Assist in establishing, managing, and progressing external-facing digital properties to build a better user experience
• Optimize the User Experience (UX) for “ease-of-use” and efficiency of core prospect and customer journeys
• Support digital capabilities that build brand awareness, attract new customers, and engage existing customers
• Execute a UX review in the agile process that supports new product launches and other key initiatives
• Support customer and agent facing applications through efficient UX design, user-centered research, conversion, and ease of use
• Support design and develop front-end visual display for all our digital properties
• Utilize UX research using both quantitative and qualitative methods to examine and improve the user experience
• Lead Horace Mann’s user experience strategy and user testing execution
• Serve as an internal UX team, developing & producing digital content focused on the customer and agent-focused assets
• Support the enterprise to create an easy to use digital presence
• Ensure all digital content is presented consistently with brand standards

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience as a UX professional
• BS/BA in Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
• Ability to lead engagements to provide a strong voice for UX within blended teams
• Background in mobile design
• Experience presenting work to clients, facilitating workshops, and conducting stakeholder interviews
• Experience in conducting user research and testing including planning, creation, and moderation
• Strong background in human factors, information architecture, and user-centered design methodology
• Ability to create wireframes, sitemaps, navigation flows, user journeys, process flows
• Understanding of responsive design, accessibility issues, and Agile methodology
• Ability to manage several projects simultaneously
• In depth knowledge of design and presentation software, specifically: FIGMA, Balsalmiq, and Microsoft Office products
• Ability to communicate with business to achieve desired outcomes and build strong alliances and relationships
