Job Description:

Are you a seasoned UX professional with a passion for user-centered design and a track record of driving exceptional digital experiences? We are on the lookout for a dedicated and creative UX Design Lead to join our dynamic team. As the UX Design Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our digital products and services, ensuring that they not only meet but exceed user expectations. You will be consulting with senior business managers on application requirements, incorporating desired functionalities into a responsive UI/UX application using the latest technologies and familiar with the 18F's UCD approach.

Responsibilities:

As the UX Design Lead, you will be at the forefront of our mission to enhance the user experience of our digital products and services. Your primary responsibility will be to champion and execute a user-centered design approach, ensuring that the needs and preferences of our users are the driving force behind all design decisions.

You will take the lead in planning and conducting user research activities, such as interviews, surveys, usability testing, and persona development. The insights gathered from these efforts will play a pivotal role in shaping our design strategies and product enhancements.

In addition to research, you will oversee the development of prototypes and mockups, offering a tangible vision of design concepts. These prototypes will serve as the foundation for iterative design improvements based on user feedback, ultimately resulting in highly user-friendly digital solutions.

Accessibility is a key consideration in all our projects, and you will be responsible for ensuring that our products meet accessibility standards and best practices, making them inclusive and usable for individuals of all abilities.

Effective collaboration is essential. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including designers, developers, product managers, and stakeholders. Your goal is to integrate user experience objectives into the overall project strategy and maintain a cohesive, high-quality user experience.

In a leadership capacity, you will set design standards, best practices, and guidelines for the UX team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Moreover, data-driven decision-making is vital; you will analyze user data and feedback to inform design choices and drive ongoing enhancements to the user experience.

Your role as UX Lead will be integral to the success of our projects, ensuring that our digital solutions meet and exceed user expectations and contribute to our organization's mission.

Required (minimum) Education:• A Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Visual Design, Information Architecture,User Research, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

Required (minimum) Years of Relevant Experience:• Proven experience (5 years) as a UX Designer or UX Lead, with a portfolio showcasing successful user-centered design projects. Your portfolio should showcase a range of successful projects where you led and delivered exceptional user-centered designs.

Required Skills: (Top 5)• Proficiency in UX design tools (e.g., Sketch, Adobe XD, Figma) and usability testing tools. You should be able to demonstrate your ability to effectively use these tools to create user interfaces and conduct usability testing.

Desired (optimum) Years of Relevant Experience:• Eight (8) Years as a UX Designer or UX Lead, with a portfolio showcasing successful user-centered design projects.• Knowledge and experience of government or public sector projects
