UX Designer

We are looking for an experienced UX Designer to help us improve and simplify the way that Jane Streeters communicate. To start, your work will focus on the technology that we’ve developed over the past few years to enable partially and fully remote work—from the way that folks join meetings in the office to the way that our trading desks communicate with each other while working from home.  

You’ll work closely with users across the firm to understand their workflows. We’re particularly keen for you to understand and advocate for the needs of our non-power-users so that you can help us identify and prioritize usability problems and improvements.

We’d expect you to help us redesign and simplify workflows to make common actions faster and more straightforward and to help us develop a unified interface for common actions that users perform in different applications. We think this role may also involve data analysis to discover where improvements can or should be made.

You’ll work within a team that is responsible for much of the technology infrastructure at the firm—and you’ll be the first UX hire on the team. We’d love for your role to expand over time to include thinking about UX decisions across the group.

• 3+ years of experience in UX design with a professional portfolio (please include a link to this in your resume or elsewhere in your application)
• Interested in helping our users and driven by a passion to make their lives easier
• Comfortable working on problems that rarely have clean, definitive answers
• Can think outside the box and bring a new perspective to our approach and methodology
• Enjoys collaborating with a wide range of colleagues with different skill sets and levels of experience; we are approachable, humble, and curious, and we’re looking for someone who embodies those traits
• Real passion and vision to improve and expand our existing toolkit, and a plan to get us there
• Fluency in English required
