UX Designer

Would you like to use your design skills to help policy makers, corporate leaders, and operators make sense of increasingly complex information spaces? Two Six Technologies provides Information Advantage to Government, Military and Fortune 50 customers tasked with mission critical decision making. 

As our first UX hire and a member of our product teams, you will design top notch user experiences working directly with our clients, end users and internal users, and stakeholders. You will work on one established product line and two experimental product lines, with the common objective to make it easier to synthesize data from many publicly available sources, as well as the results of expert analysis and machine learning analytics. 

You are comfortable taking ownership of projects and processes, and able to work closely with product managers, technologists, and customer-facing representatives to drive projects from conception to completion. You have a deep understanding of web UX design and development. You are able to test ideas with real users using a variety of methods depending on the needs of the project.

What you will do:

• Collaborate in a cross functional group to create simple and intuitive feature designs
• Strategize ways to validate the value of new product ideas with our users
• Work with colleagues to continuously refine the design to development process
• Create rapid prototypes
• Create web-ready assets
• Conduct user research and user testing
• Advocate for user experience design amongst your non-designer peers
• Design experiments that test value in addition to usability
• Advocate and change culture to be user-centered
• Be open and flexible to jump in where help is needed

What you will need:

• Experience working in web User Experience Design
• Experience creating rapid prototypes to quickly test new product ideas
• Experience conducting user research and user testing
• Strong visual design aesthetic with a focus on designing for the user
• Familiarity in designing across multiple screen sizes and devices
• Understanding of agile engineering
• Team mentality to do what’s best for the product

Nice if you have:

• Experience creating user experiences for government users, particularly in environments with limitations on technology access
• Experience with data science/advanced analytics and analytic visualization
• Interest in simplifying the communication of complex technical information
• Active TS or TS/SCI Clearance is a bonus, but those without a clearance are encouraged to apply.
