This opportunity is within the MDS (Max Digital Services) team with a focus on designing and developing applications used by internal NOV clients as well as customers across the energy industry. Hosted on the Max Portal, these applications provide a streamlined experience within a single consolidated web portal that leverages the latest technologies. The MDS UX team designs experiences that help engineers, technical support, and company leaders understand their operations and equipment and perform their jobs in the easiest, most efficient way possible.

Job Description
As a UX Designer with NOV, you will use your expertise with product and process to craft the overall functionality and feel of our digital products, define use cases and requirements, and support customer research, all with the goal of creating efficient, effective, and memorable experiences which extend across the MAX Digital platform.

Our UX Designers work within agile teams, collaborating with designers, product managers, developers, and business stakeholders to translate concepts and ideas into digital solutions that solve difficult problems and support an overall product vision. A successful candidate understands and applies fundamental concepts of user experience and visual design and usability best practices.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Collaborate with developers, project managers, and stakeholders to establish requirements and design the user experience of our core product offerings
• Apply good information architecture practices to build intuitive navigation and content systems
• Creates wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, prototypes, user flows, information architecture diagrams and other assets required to build understanding across cross-functional teams
• Develop and effectively share a deeper understanding of our products and users
• Collaborate with fellow design team members to generate ideas, provide feedback, and ensure a consistent user experience across all products

• Participates in user research, usability validation, and user testing
• Communicates the status of work to design and product leads

Requirements

• 2+ years of UX design experience preferred

• Have experience with the product development process, from requirements definition through refined, final designs.
• Have experience designing mobile and web applications.
• Preferred experience in data-centric use cases and data visualization
• Expertise with using UX best practices to design solutions
• Understanding of Material Design guidelines and framework

• Ability to iterate your designs and solutions efficiently and intelligently
• Experience in software such as InVision, Sketch, & Adobe programs such as Illustrator and Photoshop
• Bachelors in Design, Communication, or related field or relevant experience
