UX Designer

Contend is a digital agency located in Downtown, Los Angeles. We exist to evolve the marketing and advertising landscape through creativity, integrity, and humanity. Contend is a collective of highly skilled humans and brand partners dedicated to creating inspiring work that resonates and has a positive impact in the world.

We're looking for a talented UX design-wizard and conceptual thinker that fears no job, small or large. The ideal candidate is ego-free and flexible, ready to execute quick-turn needs as well as national campaigns and everything in between. If you're the type of visual specialist that's adept at executing across multiple platforms/channels, isn't afraid to get their hands dirty, and means it when they say they're a team player you sound like a Contender.

*Important to note that we are looking to meet with new freelance UX Designers for future opportunities. At the moment, there is no active project that requires UX support.

Requirements

Desired Skills And Experience

• 1-3 years as a UX designer at an agency or marketing environment
• A diverse portfolio that demonstrates your work experience, storytelling, and design presentation skills as well as demonstrating your innovative thinking skills
• Experience with modern design tools like Principle, Sketch, Axure, Framer, and InVision
• Video game passion/experience is a much-welcomed bonus
• STRONG UX design fundamentals
• An understanding of traditional, digital, mobile and social media and best practices when designing for each of them
• Driven, curious, and always seeking ways to grow, succeed, or innovate
• On top of all the cultural, design, and business trends
• Ability to work on a team and also work independently, under tight deadlines, while juggling multiple projects and tasks
• Clearly articulate and defend your design decisions in front of teams and clients
• Identify and execute on the best methods for user research and testing within client constraints
• Work within an agile methodology
