UX Designer
About the Role
As a UX Designer on VyStar's Digital UX & Analytics team, you'll be responsible for designing and delivering simple and intuitive experiences across VyStar's suite of digital products. You will take an empathetic, human-centered approach to solving complex problems with design and will consistently advocate for our users throughout the product development process. To be successful, you will use research, user journey mapping, user flows, information architecture, wire-frames and interactive prototypes to drive continuous improvements for our digital experiences.
You will be both creative and pragmatic, with a passion for quality craftsmanship. You'll have a consistent record of designing and delivering innovative design solutions for a variety of digital properties. You should have excellent technical problem-solving skills and be able to multi-task while working with minimal supervision. You should possess a strong, dynamic personality who sees a set of design constraints as a challenge for creativity.
As one of the first UX designers at VyStar, you're responsible for uncovering customer insights, developing design strategy and vision, and leading product teams to deliver outstanding customer experiences. As a design leader, you develop positive relationships, provide mentorship to other designers, and work with others to elevate design quality.
A strong portfolio of successful UX and other technical projects is essential.
This role can be remote or onsite at the VyStar Tower in Downtown Jacksonville, FL.
About the Team
The UX Designer will join our User Experience Design & Digital Analytics team which is a cross-functional team of UX architects, visual designers, researchers, writers, analysts and strategic partners collaborating closely with product owners, marketing, operations and engineers to deliver the best possible experience for our members.
The UX Design & Digital Analytics team is part of the larger Digital Member Experience (DMX) organization. DMX owns the experience for most member-facing digital products including the public sites, Online & Mobile banking, member acquisition and account opening applications. This is a rapidly growing, fast-moving team (from 1 to 20+ in just 3 years) with strong investment and support from Senior Leadership. It is our vision to "develop and foster meaningful member relationships that empower and delight" through innovation, problem solving and an emphasis on doing good for our members.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
- Partnering with UX & Analytics team, Product Owners, Marketing, Business, and Technical partners, as well as Senior stakeholders (VPs +) and other team members to create design concepts that visually express attributes of the brand and serve the intended user experience.
- Balancing business and member objectives, product requirements and brand to creatively adapt them in beautiful meaningful ways.
- Managing and leading design partner relationships and priorities to ensure successful delivery of designs
- Working on a design system end-to-end
- Staying up to date with the latest design and technology trends
- Ability to manage workload and bandwidth
- Designing responsive interactive solutions
- Creating wireframes, full visual design, interactive prototypes, interaction models, visual design specs, and delivering final assets in Figma
- Communicating complex concepts simply and evangelizing the UX practice across the organization
Education
Bachelor's or MS in a human behavior related field (or equivalent and demonstrable work experience)

Computer Skills
Digital design and prototyping tools (e.g. Figma, Sketch, InVision, Axure, Balsamiq) User research tools (e.g. UserTesting, Optimal Workshop, UsabilityHub, Userzoom, CrazyEgg, Survey tools, etc.) Google Analytics/Google Tag Manager, Ensighten, or equivalent A/B Testing Tools (e.g. Adobe Target, Optimizely, Tealium, etc.) Strong proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Experience
2-5 years of UX research experience
Digital Experience Evangelization
Evangelize user experience fundamentals and the importance of putting users/members first by serving as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor across teams on how content impacts every phase of the member journey.
