UX Designer- Associate - Accelerate DLA

GS Accelerate is a firmwide platform to foster innovation and collaboration across Goldman Sachs, with a focus on the firm's future growth. Accelerate focuses on building brand new businesses for GS, while offering employees the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

We are building a new digital business that is a ground up on-cloud engineering project. As such, we are focused on creating a dynamic, flexible environment that can rapidly create and deliver. Engineers will play an integral role in delivering the proofs-of-concepts or minimum viable product in an exciting greenfield environment. They will also help define both the scope and direction of the businesses as it grows.

We are looking for a talented and passionate UI Engineer who thrives in an extremely entrepreneurial, fast paced environment. This is a high visibility role, backed by some of the senior-most leaders of the firm, and as such, will require creativity and drive to deliver on an ambitious roadmap.

What you will be doing:

• Be responsible for building and maintaining high quality production code including public facing sites
• You will be working as part of a highly experienced engineering team and jump in at the beginning of a high growth product
• Design, build and optimize the frontend UIs.
• Be part of the product roadmap discussions as we grow and evolve the product
• Stay informed with industry best practices and provide guidance, inspiration and mentorship in engineering excellence

What we are looking for:

• 3+ years of web development experience.
• In-depth knowledge of Javascript and React. Typescript skills will be advantageous, but not mandatory.
• Hands-on development experience building responsive and performant web applications using React (including hooks and react-router), CSS-in-JS (or SASS).
• Experience of using and developing RESTful web Services, with proficiency in at least 1 additional language (e.g. Python) is highly desirable.
• Experience of Javascript and web testing frameworks (JEST, enzyme, Cypress, etc).
• Experience in all phases of the SDLC and CI/CD.
• Experience with cross-browser development and testing on both mobile and PC platforms.
• A good understanding of UX principles
