UX Designer II, Data & Experimentation

The Data & Experimentation team envisions, designs, and develops the tools that enable advertising campaigns, user targeting, and a/b testing across PlayStation consumer products like the PS4 and PS5 consoles, PS Mobile app, and more. These very sophisticated systems help our customers discover the content that will interest them most, and at just the right time. 

You are an experienced UX designer with a portfolio of business-focused tools and a drive to understand sophisticated systems. You’re familiar with the challenges of administering robust data structures that enable critical business processes. You solve design problems through discovery, communication, and collaboration. You have the ability to see past requirements to core user needs and can make and communicate your decisions clearly and calmly.  You are able to look at problems at both the macro and the micro level in order to get a comprehensive understanding of the workflow and other workflows closely associated. You value consistency and the desire to create a harmonious ecosystem of tools that look and feel like they belong to the same family. You're a diplomat among cross-functional partners, comfortable balancing product requirements, design solutions, and technical constraints.

You will join our Data & Experimentation team in Los Angeles and will become a part of the global SONY design community. • Gain a deep understanding of the PlayStation brand and services.

• Quickly produce multiple and distinct UX/UI concepts.

• Ideate innovative solutions with inputs from key partners.

• Build flows, wireframes, prototypes, and corresponding documentation.

• Craft and apply design patterns, processes, and best practices.

• Rapidly iterate on design solutions based on engineering or other constraints.

• Communicate design ideas in a compelling way, encouraging partners to accept new solutions and concepts.

• 4+ years of experience building user-centered interactive designs.

• A portfolio that showcases thoughtful, simple, deliberate intuitive design, with a focus on complex web-based administrative tools.

• Strong communication skills to clearly articulate your concepts and rationale.

• Expert knowledge of design tools (e.g. Figma, Sketch, etc.) for wireframing and high-fidelity mockups.

• Ability to improve and expand existing design systems/components.

• Produce detailed spec and graphic assets for implementation.

• Experience collaborating with Product Management and Engineering counterparts.

• Collaborate with partners on user journey development.

• Ability to work unsupervised in an agile environment.
