UX Designer Intern (September - 8 months)

Your Role and Responsibilities
This resides in Markham ON and is a 8 month work term commencing in September 2024. It is mandatory that all applicants are enrolled in full-time studies at a post-secondary institution and returning to full-time studies upon completion of the work term.
As a UX Designer you will be learning and applying skills for designing & developing web & graphical user interfaces and creating their media with the aim of increasing users and engagement across several platforms.
You will work with various graphic design and web development tools and technologies. You will create mockups layouts icons tiles etc. for websites applications and social media campaigns.
IBM Developer Skills Network is part of the Developer Ecosystem Group. We engage closely with all business units of IBM academic institutions and customers large and small. As part of our open source mission we work closely with various open source communities as both contributors and users. We containerize and orchestrate at scale. We apply machine learning AI and blockchain. We do cool things on mobile. We dabble in Golang Elixir and everything else that’s cool and new. Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Graphics design experience;
• Excellent communication and creative skills;
• One of Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator or InDesign;
• Understanding of UI/UX design principles;
• Passion for user experience and research.
• Must be eligible to work 8 months starting in September

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
Familiarity with:

• HTML CSS and basic JavaScript;
• Understanding of colour theory and typography;
• Knowledge of best practices for accessible design;
• Experience in prototyping (preferably Adobe XD or Figma).
• Registered in a formal co-op/internship program
