We’re looking for a UX Researcher Intern to support our Product Design team during the Summer of 2024.

Position Summary

Are you interested in a dynamic summer internship experience with a cybersecurity company?

Depending on your preference and location in proximity to one of our offices, this role can be a remote, hybrid, or in office position.

Our intern program is 10-weeks in length, going from the end of May to August. It is a PAID internship program 20-30 hours per week for the Summer of 2024.

Coalfire is seeking a highly motivated and curious User Research Intern to join our Product Design Group. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work alongside a team of experienced product designers. stakeholders, PMs and contribute to the development of cutting-edge cybersecurity solutions. As a User Research Intern, you will play a critical role in understanding the needs and behaviors of our internal/external users to inform the design and development of our products.

What You'll Do

• Conduct user research activities, including user interviews, surveys, usability testing, and persona development, to gain insights into user needs, preferences, and pain points.
• Analyze user data and feedback to identify trends and provide actionable recommendations for product improvements.
• Work and collaborate with the Product Design Group (PDG), PMs and stakeholders to integrate user feedback into the design process and contribute to the creation of user-centered design solutions.
• Plan and conduct usability testing sessions to evaluate the usability and effectiveness of product prototypes and features.
• Create clear and concise reports and presentations to communicate research findings and insights to the team and stakeholders.
• Maintain detailed records of research activities, user profiles, and findings.
• Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging trends in user research and UX design.

What You'll Bring

• Enrolled in a relevant undergraduate or graduate program (e.g., Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Cognitive Science, Design).
• Strong interest in user research, usability testing, and UX design.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in research and data analysis tools (e.g., usability testing software, survey platforms).
• Familiarity with design and prototyping tools (Figma) is a plus.
• A passion for cybersecurity and a desire to contribute to creating secure digital solutions.
