Your Role:

The VA Manufacturing Process Engineer must have strong communication skills, be detail oriented, and have the ability to work independently.  Candidate must establish and maintain a professional working relationship with external and internal teams at all levels across the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees and assesses existing processes and workflows.
  • Optimize productivity by designing, implementing and testing new procedures.
  • Assembles reports to document process status and changes.
  • Provides thorough instructions for successful implementation of process and associated changes.
  • Assesses compliance with applicable safety and quality standards.
  • Aid industrial engineers to determine standard times for operations.  
  • Develop process documentation for assembly and inspection activities.  
  • Design layouts based on production requirements and production rates.  
  • Determine kitting/ sequencing strategies for assembly to reduce cycle times on the line.  
  • Aid in the development and procurement of tools and equipment as required.
  • Maintain BOM alignment between PLM and Manufacturing.
  • Design and Build Assembly Aids and Fixtures.
  • Perform/Support Virtual DFA/DFM activities to ensure manufacturing feasability.
  • Perform/Support Assembly and Equipment Trials and Testing.
  • Implement powertools and associated fixturing.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering; Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical.
  • 3 – 5 years of manufacturing experience.
  • 1+ years of experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook.
  • Working experience with CATIA, AutoCAD and standard time methodologies.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% within and outside the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 years of manufacturing experience in automotive.
  • Detailed knowledge of the vehicle assembly process.
  • Detailed knowledge of CAD tools (CATIA, AutoCAD).
  • Detailed Knowledge in Tools and Equipment that support the manufacturing process (Ergonomics Assists, Assembly Jigs, etc.).
  • Detailed Knowledge in Fastening Equipment (DC Tools, Clutch Tools).

Annual Salary Range:

$96,000 to $119,000, plus benefits and incentive plans
