The Value Specialist is a strategic and analytical role focused on executing a value management program to maximize the outcomes from technology investments. This position works directly with the value management leadership to apply value management techniques within an assigned group of projects and portfolios as well as support the development and maintenance of shared service resources. The Value Specialist will be responsible for tracking critical value realization data points, analyzing outcomes, building reports/dashboards, and making recommendations on how to maximize strategic impacts. Additionally, the position will be responsible for developing strong, consultative partnerships both in Tech and in the business and will serve as a trusted advisor for the value management discipline.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Leverages a consultative approach to identify value drivers and corresponding OKRs for assigned projects and portfolios
- Supports effective prioritization and funding decisions by providing analysis and expert advice on value potential
- Tracks, monitors, and analyzes business outcomes for assigned projects and portfolios
- Identifies insights and makes recommendations to maximize value realization
- Works with business partners to use both data and narrative to tell the story of how value is being realized
- Builds scorecards and reports to illustrate the performance of assigned projects and portfolios.
- Establishes and maintains systems, reporting capabilities, templates, and other resources critical to the value management process
- Continually upgrades personal skills and knowledge about supported business areas, technology capabilities and innovative business solutions. Engages in research and competitive analysis to stay abreast of industry trends and advances
May perform additional duties as assigned.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
- Financial (i.e. NPV, IRR, ROI) and/or Operational (i.e. OKR, KPI) reporting experience
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including advanced formulas, macros, and pivot tables
- Ability to listen, build rapport and establish credibility as a strategic partner vertically and horizontally within the assigned business units, as well as with the Technology leadership and functional teams
- Skilled at telling stories with data
- Adept communication, presentation, and facilitation skills
- Proficient project management, organization, and planning skills
- Ability to develop a profound understanding of assigned business areas, their value drivers, and strategic direction
- Capability to manage multiple and shifting priorities in a fast-paced and challenging environment
- Data visualization and reporting using PowerBI, Tableau, Looker, or other tools (preferred)
- Experience implementing data analysis using languages like Python and R, with Machine Learning (ML) packages (preferred)
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred in a related discipline, or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in financial analysis and/or strategic reporting
- Experience with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) preferred
- Experience with Lean Portfolio Management preferred
- Knowledge organizing and monitoring OKRs and KPIs, creating/managing cost-benefit analyses, and deriving/tracking quantitative and qualitative benefit measures.
- Insurance industry experience preferred.
