Vendor Management Specialist
Job Description
The Vendor Management Specialist is responsible for the end-to-end management of our Claims service supplier management process. This includes collaboration with Claims department leadership to analyze and identify Claims vendor needs, exploring and vetting potential vendor partners, negotiating vendor contracts, as well as ongoing oversight through tracking and management of vendor performance. This role will be responsible for managing Pie's overall relationships with Claims department vendors.
How You’ll Do It- Claims Vendor Panel Creation
- Collaborate with Claims Department leadership to identify vendor needs and requirements.
- Explore and evaluate service offerings from prospective vendor partners to select the best vendor partners for Pie's needs.
- Collaborate with Claims Department leadership and our Legal team to negotiate and implement vendor contracted billing rates and service requirements.
- Where applicable, create and document Pie's Claims Department list of panel vendors based on vendor categories and jurisdictions.
- Review existing vendor relationships to identify the need for changes or improvements.
- Claims Vendor Performance Management and Oversight
- Collaborate with our Director of Claims Data & Analytics to create and execute performance and compliance reporting metrics for all vendors.
- Participate in root cause analysis to develop corrective and preventive actions related to performance, quality, and regulatory compliance.
- Communicate findings and recommended actions to all stakeholders, including Claims leadership and the vendor partner.
- In collaboration with our Legal team, assist with coordinating regulatory agency audits and/or inspections for vendor oversight functions.
- Claims Vendor Relationship Management
- Develop internal Claims processes for referrals and ongoing communication with vendor partners.
- Create and deliver internal Pie-oneer training on vendor topics and processes.
- Serves as the central point of contact for all parties, regarding the resolution of vendor management requests, questions, suggestions, and issues.
- 3-4 years of vendor management experience in the commercial lines insurance, preferably in the workers' compensation and the commercial auto industry.
- 5 years experience or equivalent knowledge of the Claims lifecycle for workers' compensation and commercial auto.
- Demonstrated Collaboration: Strong ability to articulate issues, questions, and requirements. Must confidently and actively participate, listen, and share.
- Strong multitasking and organization of work skills. Must be able to set priorities by using data, your knowledge, and experience to figure things out.
- Advanced strategic thinking, problem-solving, and negotiation skills are essential.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and attention to detail.
- An advanced understanding of contract language is required.
- High School diploma or GED required, Bachelor's Degree preferred
Base compensation for position: $90,000 - $120,000
