Role Description:
This is a Technology Vendor Management role which has accountability for creating and managing best in class Vendor Management processes for Oak Street Health. The Vendor Manager will support business, program, and technology owners in the vendor engagement process. In doing so, the Vendor Manager will establish and manage Vendor Management frameworks focused on enabling vendor engagement for internal partners and driving efficiency, consistency, and visibility in the value chain. This position will report to the Director of Vendor Management, and will work with key leaders across technology for strategic vendor management work.
The Vendor Manager will actively participate in the Sourcing and Procurement process, from early business requirement gathering through contacting, serving as a key point of contact and VMO subject matter expert. This role will work with business partners to ensure procedural mechanisms are in place to establish and measure SLAs and milestones to measure against expected ROI for both existing and new vendor relationships. Managing the total cost of ownership and timely project delivery will be critical.
Core Responsibilities:
  • Lead or participate in vendor sourcing and procurement activities
  • Lead efforts to improve, develop, and implement processes in support of end to end vendor lifecycle and VMO program
  • Manage the vendor contract lifecycle administration process
  • Define, implement, and manage vendor governance model including content and cadence
  • Define, implement, and manage VMO reporting driving timely, clear, and concise visibility to stakeholders at all levels
  • Serve as focal point of contact for VMO Procurement intake process, ensuring requests are complete and promptly addressed
  • Monitor vendor SLA compliance and partner with stakeholders to drive improvements as needed
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to define, build, and maintain vendor performance dashboard
  • Define, implement, and manage vendor escalation process
  • Proactively identify risk and elevate issues that may require executive intervention
  • Identify areas of opportunity with internal partners to develop and implement strategies to address them
  • Collaborate with technology teams to achieve seamless integration of data flows between Oak Street Health and the vendorâs technology environment
  • Other duties as assigned

What are we looking for?
  • Bachelorâs Degree, or equivalent work experience required. MBA, Engineering, or Business degree will be preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in vendor management and / or vendor procurement, preferably in the technology space
  • Demonstrated understanding of vendor management, vendor procurement, and vendor lifecycle
  • Demonstrated consultative skills â" questioning, negotiating, listening
  • Demonstrated ability to work on cross-functional teams in a matrix environment to deliver on common goals
  • Strong analytical, project management, business reporting, and problem solving skills with ability to come to conclusions and make clear concise recommendations based on findings
  • Highly proficient in collaboration tools such as Microsoft M365, Google Workspace, etc.
  • Ability to effectively translate high-level strategies into actionable plans
  • Natural proactive drive to participation, leading, and execution
  • Strong executive communication skills, in both written and verbal context
