Vertical Marketing Manager, Senior

The Vertical Marketing Senior Manager will be responsible for being the voice-of and the voice- to Financial Service and Carrier customers at Zayo. This strategic role entails working closely with the Sales, Marketing, and Enablement teams to develop effective go-to-market strategies and empower global sales teams to excel in these industries. The incumbent will be accountable for achieving revenue and churn targets, as well as driving consideration within the Financial Services and Carrier verticals.
This role reports to the Head of Vertical and Segment Marketing.
Responsibilities
- Voice of the Customer: Serve as the voice of Financial Services and Carrier customers within Zayo, representing their needs, preferences, and challenges to internal stakeholders.
- Market Analysis: Analyze market trends and competitors' activities within the verticals, conducting thorough research to identify customer requirements, market gaps, and growth opportunities. Utilize insights to inform marketing strategies and drive business growth.
- Industry Education: Educate internal stakeholders on the Financial Services and Carrier industries, offering valuable recommendations, overviews, industry insights, marketing personas, and competitive analysis to guide go-to-market efforts.
- Positioning and Messaging: Develop targeted positioning and messaging strategies that resonate with the Financial Services and Carrier verticals, effectively differentiating Zayo from competitors.
- Go-to-Market Strategy: Design comprehensive go-to-market strategies for the Financial Services and Carrier verticals, ensuring alignment with revenue and churn targets. Collaborate with marketing, sales enablement, sales, and product teams to develop compelling sales offers and effective go-to-market motions.
- Execution and Collaboration: Work closely with COE (Center of Excellence) teams and program managers to drive the execution of marketing strategies, ensuring timely and effective implementation. Collaborate with the Demand Generation team to develop campaigns and support Account-Based Marketing (ABM) efforts.
- Content Development: Create industry-specific content and collateral, including blog posts, whitepapers, case studies, presentations, one-pagers, and brochures. These resources will drive consideration, empower sellers, and enhance conversion rates.
- Industry Toolkits: Maintain industry toolkits and update relevant industry website pages, ensuring that information and resources are up to date and readily accessible.
- Goal Setting and Reporting: Set clear industry goals and key results, communicating them across marketing and sales teams. Provide regular updates on the results of go-to-market efforts and plans to executive leadership.
- Sales Enablement: Create high-quality content, collateral, and resources to enable sales teams, equipping them with the tools and knowledge needed to effectively engage with Financial Services and Carrier customers.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 6 years of experience, with at least 3 years working within a B2B organization.
- Integrated GTM Experience: Proven experience in building integrated go-to-market (GTM) motions that involve collaboration with sales, product, and enablement teams.
- Industry Knowledge: Highly preferred experience working within the carrier and/or financial industries, demonstrating a deep understanding of their unique dynamics.
- Storytelling and Writing Skills: Ability to effectively engage and educate customers, prospects, and internal stakeholders across various industries through compelling storytelling and technical writing.
- Results-Oriented: Demonstrated track record of being results-oriented and having a test-and-learn mindset, with a focus on driving measurable outcomes.
- Marketing Generalist: Familiarity with a range of marketing tactics and techniques, enabling the application of diverse strategies to achieve marketing objectives.
- Insight Translation: Proficiency in translating marketing and business insights into digestible opportunities, effectively communicating complex ideas to different audiences.
- Collaboration: History of working collaboratively across marketing COE (Center of Excellence) teams, leveraging collective expertise to achieve shared goals.
- Leadership and Mentorship: Ability to lead through influence, providing mentoring and coaching to more junior team members.
- Matrixed Organization: Capability to thrive in a matrixed organization, collaborating effectively with a virtual team.
Base pay range: $80,100 - $120,000, commensurate with experience
