Responsibilities:
Directing all aspects of accounting operations, overseeing all transactions related to general ledger, receivables, payables, payroll and financial reporting.
Engaging with Risk Capital partners to ensure timely monthly, quarterly and annual reporting.
Assisting with negotiating new Risk Capital Contracts, working with internal and external partners to ensure successful launch of new programs.
Develop revenue recognition accounting policy for our multiple revenue streams.
Ensure timely completion of monthly P&Ls, Balance Sheets and Cash Flows.
Developing and coordinating all relationships with financial institutions, lenders and other
partners.
Develop cash management strategy and investment policy.
Partner with Legal, Compliance, Claims, Operations and Executive team to drive
initiatives across the business and scale operations.
Provide financial and strategic thought leadership supported by rigorous analysis, with a
focus on business planning, corporate strategy, and capital allocation.
Developing and maintaining all necessary accounting policies and systems, including
general ledger and financial reporting. Ensuring that records are maintained in
accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
Assisting senior management in financial planning and results management. Work with
other team members to understand revenue and cost drivers and define appropriate
reports for tracking.
Coordinating and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
Coordinating and/or preparing tax schedules, returns and information.
Managing all tax planning and compliance with all required federal, state, local, payroll,
property and other applicable taxes.
Building an accounting department as the company grows, other finance and
administrative duties as required.
Manage IT and IT support team across the business.
Knowledge, Skills And Qualifications:
CPA or Master’s degree in a business, financial or related field or equivalent work experience.
12 or more years of experience in managing an accounting function in a medium or large-size company.
Excellent computer skills and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, and Access)
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Experienced background in organizational effectiveness and operations management including implementing and designing best practices.
Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing staff groups and major projects or initiatives.
A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace
Excels at operating in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
Excellent people manager, open to direction and collaborative work style with a strong
commitment to get the job done in a timely, accurate manner.
Ability to challenge and debate issues of importance to the organization.
Ability to look at situations from several points of view
Persuasive with details and facts
Delegate responsibilities effectively
High comfort level working in a diverse environment
