Vice President, Accounting

Reports to: Chief Financial Officer

Location: Remote

Compensation Range: $235,000 to $275,000 base plus bonus and equity

What You’ll Do: 

Huntress is looking for a highly independent and motivated Vice President of Accounting to join our leadership team and play a key role in leading our accounting and tax team as we scale towards IPO.  

You’ll be responsible for overseeing accounting operations, month-end close and reporting, policy adherence and administration, process controls, and audits for a fast growing company aiming to be the next marquee IPO. 

You will also need demonstrable experience in acting as a business partner, supporting, and challenging non-finance stakeholders. As this role involves constant interaction with senior non-finance stakeholders across the business, you will need the confidence and emotional intelligence to effectively communicate at all levels. The ideal candidate will have worked in the high-tech industry and will enjoy operating in an extremely fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, while understanding the needs of a company preparing to be publicly traded. We are looking for someone who thrives on building teams, loves driving growth, is curious, and is inherently motivated by solving challenges.

Responsibilities: 

• Oversee all aspects of Accounting, Tax, and Payroll operations
• Develop and implement accounting policies, systems, and procedures for a company in an IPO trajectory
• Conduct cash flow analysis and make recommendations for improvement
• Own all projects aimed to achieve SOX compliance relevant to the accounting practice
• Operate in a leader capacity, proactively influencing, leading & coaching across the accounting organization
• Exhibit deep understanding of key non-GAAP SaaS business drivers and metrics and how they reflect the health of the business and its valuation
• Implement highly scalable systems, tools, and processes that enable companywide agile data driven decision making

What You Bring To The Team:  

• 15+ years of accounting leadership experience at fast growing SaaS startups 
• 8+ years of people management experience
• 5+ years of experience at a publicly traded company in a US exchange
• Strong experience with PCAOB audits and SEC correspondences pre and post S-1 filing
• Genuine curiosity and ability to get to the root cause of an intellectual challenge
• Passionate about owning business results and driving growth
• Humility and an eagerness to educate others on financial aspects of the business
• Experience working at a company going through an IPO process or working at a public company
• MBA / CPA / CFA designation preferred but not required
• Strong knowledge and experience with SaaS/Cloud Computing KPIs and metrics
• Experience in both private and public companies, ideally transitioning to a public company in a leadership role
• Ability to influence and gain buy-in with all levels of leadership to drive actions, behaviors, decisions and business outcomes
• Ability to lead teams to deliver exceptional results and drive business growth
• Exceptional track record of self-motivation, prioritization, initiative, and integrity
• Strong written and oral communication skills with experience in presenting to business partners with confidence, conviction, and credibility
• Advanced experience with Excel and G-Suite applications
• Experience with ERP (e.g. NetSuite) and EPM (e.g. Adaptive Insights, Vareto) systems 
• Experience with BI tools such as Sigma
