Vice President, Ads Engineering

The Reddit Ads team is seeking a Vice President who will lead our Ads engineering organization. You will own and drive the technical strategy, execution & team-building for this organization that is the core of our company’s monetization engine. This role reports to our EVP of Ads Monetization and is a part of the executive team at Reddit. As an executive at Reddit, you will have significant influence and responsibility in shaping Reddit’s overall monetization & company-building strategy. 

Responsibilities

• Directly responsible for all Ads software engineering teams & the Ads Solutions Engineering team. The Ads Site Reliability Engineering team reports into this role through a dotted line 
• Responsible for hiring, retaining & grooming world-class engineers
• Own and drive the technical strategy & roadmap execution for these teams
• Closely partner with the Ads Product Management team to influence our Ads product strategy 
• Thought & action partner for other Ads cross-functional teams (Product Marketing, Sales, Ad Ops, etc.) on our Ads business strategy 
• As an executive at Reddit, influence Reddit’s overall company-building strategy & execution

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering management experience in an internet-based services/SaaS environment. Proven experience in building and running high-performing teams
• Proven experience building/running diverse & inclusive teams teams that work well across multiple locations, time zones and with remote employees 
• Proven experience in hiring & managing multiple Sr. Managers, Directors & principal-level engineers
• Strong established domain knowledge and expertise in digital advertising
• Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to manage, mentor and motivate a team, as well as align a diverse set of stakeholders towards a common goal
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills 
• Experience working with Executive-level leadership 
• Understanding of ML modeling and ML systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong hands-on ML modeling & ML systems background
• Experience building an Ads platform that successfully serves medium & small advertisers, in addition to large advertisers
• Strong academic background in CS or a related field (BS/MS/PhD)
