Vice President and General Manager - Military Space
Vice President and General Manager, Military Space will lead Ball's Military Strategic Business Unit (SBU) which includes responsibility for ongoing program management, technological advancements, and new business development activities to satisfy the objectives and goals of the operating and strategic plans of Ball Aerospace and the Corporation.
What You'll Do:
- Report to the Senior Vice President of Space Systems.
- Serve as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT); ability to demonstrate a First Team mindset - prioritizing support of fellow leaders as top priority. Building trusting relationships with the ELT is the top leadership priority.
- Manage successful execution of the Military Space business, delivering profitable growth and efficient operations through development and implementation of growth strategies aligned with the Ball Aerospace strategic plan.
- Lead a team of diverse professionals comprising the Military Space staff, fostering an inclusive work environment, and guiding the team's professional development via appropriate growth opportunities and mentoring.
- Guide high priority business pursuits from assessment through proposal. Provide overall direction for all aspects of the pursuit, capture and proposal execution.
- Participate in the development of the annual Operations Plan to set goals for sales, profit, and bookings. Use this plan to set budgets and rates for the subsequent years. Manage the business unit to ensure Operations Plan goals and budgets are met.
- Provide leadership and direction to standup a new SBU and help integrate the business into Space Systems.
- Ensure that all business is conducted using the highest ethical standards and in compliance with all applicable laws, statutes, regulations, company directives; live Ball's core values of uncompromising integrity, being close to its customers, behaving like owners, focusing on attention to detail, and being innovative.
- Perform such individual assignments as directed; and maintain the professional competence, knowledge, and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
What You'll Need:
- BS/BA in related field plus 15 years or more related experience.
- Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
- A current, active TS/SCI security clearance is required.
- Degree in Engineering preferred.
- 10+ years of experiencing working with our DoD and sponsor organizations preferred.
- A solid understanding of Military Space missions and operations with relevant industry and government relationships.
- Excellent communication skills to support interfaces with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to effectively interact with customers and governmental figures at the highest levels.
- Current Government sponsored Background Investigation is required and the ability to maintain a Government Access is mandatory.
On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site five days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.

- Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor.
Verification that your current security clearance or government customer access meets the requirement for this position will be required.
Relocation for this position is available.
Compensation & Benefits:
- HIRING SALARY RANGE: The salary for this position starts at $240,000.00 and is to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
- Subject to business performance and recommendations of management, this role may be eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.
- Subject to business and individual performance, and recommendations of management, this role may be eligible to participate in a long-term incentive compensation plan.
