Vice President – BioPharma Business Development

Paige is the first company to develop clinical grade AI tools for the pathologist, which resulted in our receiving the first FDA approval for an AI product in pathology. Paige has also received FDA-clearance for our digital viewer, FullFocus®, and CE-IVD and UKCA clearance for our diagnostic AI in prostate and breast cancer. Â
We have also established multiple relationships with biopharma, laboratory and equipment manufacturers that enable Paige to develop a full solution for busy laboratories, ready to help patients receive better diagnoses and treatment.Â
We are seeking a Vice President – Biopharma Business Development to join our team. Â
In this role you will report to the Chief Commercial Officer and will be responsible for leading the Pharma business development team to ultimately to ensure that Paige maintains a market-leading position in the fields of digital pathology and AI-empowered precision medicine. You will lead the Biopharma BD team’s efforts in identifying pharma opportunities for companion diagnostic and other development efforts to help drive growth and enable the company to exceed company goals. Â
Ultimately, you are responsible for ensuring the Pharma/Strategic annual booking target is met and/or exceeded. You will rely on internal stakeholder and market research, competitive intelligence, and networking that will be used to inform clinical and biopharma business and market strategies, as well as sourcing and executing partnerships. In this role, cross-functional collaboration will be key to developing and executing corporate/business development strategies. You will routinely collaborate with Paige executive leadership team, alliance management function, finance, product, science/data, medical, regulatory/market access, clinical sales, strategy and operations, and internal legal functions.Â
This role can be remote for candidates based in the US, or hybrid from our NYC office, if preferred.
The base pay range for New York and California is $200,000-$240,000 per annum. The range may differ in other locations.
AS VP of Biopharma BD, you will:Â Â Â
- Maintain compliance with legal regulations, policies and procedures relating to compliance, and best practices in Pharma and Business DevelopmentÂ
- Pharma BD – organic growth:Â
- Leading the team to develop and execute business plans for targeted accounts that will continue to be a direct focus in this role. Working with the team to complete a business analysis for management review on a quarterly basis (for QBR and Board meetings)
- Attend the weekly Senior Leadership Team (SLT) meeting to represent Pharma Business Development. Drive all Corporate/Business Development Pipeline review meetings to ensure cross-functional collaboration
- Manage the BD team direct reports (who are collectively responsible for all additional pharma/CRO/strategic accounts). Ensure the finance tracker is kept up-to-date on a weekly basis for pharma and strategic opportunities in the pipeline
- Work on high-level relationships with Pharma and drive new opportunities with your own named accountsÂ
- Work with Alliance Management team for all agreements at 60% or higher (in the pipeline where a proposal is requested) to ensure alignment on internal planning including kick-off for projects moving forwardÂ
About YouÂ
- 10+ years’ experience in healthcare in the areas of Sales, Pharma BD, partnering, alliance management, marketing or other commercial roles driving and implementing Commercial growth in Life SciencesÂ
- 5+ years’ experience partnering with Biotech and/or Pharmaceutical companies Â
- Ability to learn and understand healthcare, biology and technical concepts quickly Â
- Ability to structure deals and understand the needs of multiple parties Â
- Proven track record of growing Commercial through new-product development, marketing, branding, and partnershipsÂ
- Significant experience in general management and P&L supervisionÂ
- Ability to craft and execute a business strategy effectivelyÂ
- Experience in making decisions based on business metricsÂ
- Ability to work effectively in Cross-functional teams Â
- Willingness to travel approximately 70%Â Â
PreferredÂ
- MBA and/or advanced life sciences degree a plus Â
- Prior experience working in the biomarker or diagnostics space Â
- Experience with Companion Diagnostics for OncologyÂ
- Understanding or experience with AI and/or Machine learning in HealthcareÂ
- Deep understanding of oncology pipelines for Biotech and Pharma companies Â
- Strong technical experience with Salesforce and other business productivity toolsÂ
