The Vice President of Clinical Trial Recruitment (CTR) will be responsible for closely supporting the Client Relationship Leader (or taking on the role of Client Relationship leader, account dependent) to drive interwoven global clinical trial patient recruitment and retention programs. Programs overseen may include patient recruitment planning and strategy, material development, direct to patient outreach and advertising, branding and positioning, digital and social strategy, advocacy relations, referring physician outreach, patient and HCP engagement, patient retention and both pre- and post-study participant communications.
The VP, CTR will have a deep understanding of clinical trial patient recruitment and retention best practices for designing and deploying programs across a broad range of therapeutic areas, conditions and study designs. This person will have an ability to communicate effectively internally as well as with clients and other external partners and an eye for flawless execution that delivers ROI. An ability to effectively manage, mobilize and mentor teams is critical to success in this role.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage all facets of a multidimensional, interwoven team and provide sound, strategic counsel to ensure progress, action and results; keep senior leadership informed and bring them in when necessary to maintain high-quality service and execution
- Partner with intermedia team to develop strategic programs that meet client goals
- Work with senior leadership to expand strategic thinking and identify growth opportunities
- Review wide-array of complex, strategic scientific communications materials and other deliverables (e.g., corporate/product narratives, messages and Q&As, results reports)
- Take the lead on plans and high-level deliverables (e.g., yearly planning)
- Participate and actively contribute to all-agency/IAT meetings, as appropriate and as the face of Spectrum
- Manage account financials including staffing and projections, budget tracking and monthly billing packages to ensure team is on trend; liaise with client on budget recommendations
- Ensure team meets deadlines, manages priorities and effectively communicates to both internal and external stakeholders
- Fully master the Spectrumtific Method/other client service methodologies
- Demonstrate and nurture agency values and principles
- Participate in agency activities and professional development opportunities; communicate areas for improvement
- Supervise junior staff and play an active role in their professional development; identify and champion both account-specific and agency-wide visibility opportunities for self and team members
- Contribute to new business opportunities
Desired Skills and Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Advertising, Marketing , English, Communications or similar major
- At least 8 years of healthcare marketing, advertising or communications experience, with a focus in clinical trial patient recruitment and retention
- Experience working in cross-functional teams
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
- Deep understanding of client subject matter, industry landscape
- Ability to manage multiple projects and/or accounts simultaneously
- An extreme attention to detail
- Professional demeanor
- Ability to excel in a team environment as well as work independently
- Resourceful and effective problem solver
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong presentation skills
