Vice President, Consulting
The VP, Consulting role is responsible for leading project teams and team members in the Consulting organization. This role serves as a business advisor to Metafora clients as well as an internal business consulting stakeholder on matters related to project scope, budget, planning, execution, and delivery and is accountable for translating client needs into high-value, on-budget solutions and long-term relationships.
What you'll do:
  • Responsible for leadership and management of the business consulting organization
  • Lead and manage work with customers to plan and execute business consulting work
  • Manage resource planning and allocation including forecasting project demand, identifying when new headcount is needed, planning the hiring and on-boarding of the new headcount as projects begin
  • Identify new project opportunities at existing and prospective customers
  • Define project delivery methodologies including repeatable structure for project planning, execution, and delivery
  • Build and maintain systems for staying ahead of the curve on market best practices, innovation and improvements to continually grow and diversify our service offerings and approach to client projects
  • Promote cross-functional knowledge sharing amongst consulting projects teams, technology teams, and the larger organization
  • Create and present proposals and SOW's for business consulting engagements, including:
    • Defining the work that is needed
    • Estimating resource needs and timelines for consulting work
    • Applying pricing guidelines to consulting work
  • Ensure business consulting engagements are delivered on time and to customer satisfaction
  • Build relationships with key executives across current, past and prospective customers
  • Provide coaching and development for business consulting team members
  • Plan and manage the customer service department, including long-term strategy to scale to support anticipated demand
  • Design consulting organization structure, defining roles and responsibilities and career progression plans for the organization
  • Calculate, create and manage consulting rate cards / fee structures

How you'll do it:
  • Being a Business Advisor: Clearly understand and navigate client's complex realities and relationships to accomplish goals. Position ideas and actions to maneuver through a politicized client landscape. Address concerns of all parties impacted by decision making.
  • Coaching/Mentorship: Provide feedback and coaching to consulting leadership. Help develop plans and build on ideas of other leadership and non-leadership team members. Communicate expectations internally and externally, check for understanding and ensure commitments are met.
  • Energy & Stress Tolerance: Keep a strong work pace over time. Perform demanding and challenging work effectively. Present positive disposition and maintain constructive relationships under stress. Practice and promote strategies that prevent/alter conditions that create stress to maintain a healthy work environment.
  • Empathy: Maintain a global perspective of diverse backgrounds and circumstances of internal and external team members. Practice and promote active listening in all relationships. Servant leadership.
  • Creating Demand Through Insight: Utilize networking to constantly gather insights to help inform strategic business direction and client relationships. Influence and persuasion in decision making when necessary. Leverage services and offerings into targeted sales opportunities.
  • Sustaining Customer Satisfaction: Own enterprise client relationships. Build relationships with key stakeholders in other business units for solution buy-in and cross selling. Support branding and marketing Metafora in the industry. Mentor others on a client-first approach.

What we need:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Research, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related degree
  • 10+ years consulting experience; 7+ years experience managing a team
  • Track record of success leading the build-out of an organization or department
  • Experience leading a wide variety of business consulting engagements from prospecting and scoping, to execution and delivery
  • Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels to set expectations, deliver feedback, and manage work
  • Desire to coach, mentor and develop consulting team members
