Job Description

Our Employee Experience practice is one of the fastest-growing practices at Edelman, seated at the intersection of business transformation, culture, and employee engagement. Our dedicated team, located in major hubs across the U.S., as well as offices around the globe, has deep expertise in three critical elements of the employee experience:

Culture: Activating new ways of working to support the organization’s core purpose

Change: Leading the organization through the upheaval and uncertainty of transformation

Communications: Engaging and connecting employees in a modern, employee-centric way

We apply a user-centric and data-driven approach to all engagements, creating strategies that are tailored to deliver on our client’s objectives, content that resonates with employees, and experiences that inspire engagement.

We are seeking an adaptable, design-minded, front-footed strategic advisor for the senior role of Vice President to join our growing Employee Experience team on the West Coast. As part of our dynamic team, you’ll contribute to the success of major accounts across a variety of business sectors and client challenges.

While there is no “typical day” at Edelman, your time will include exposure to a variety of disciplines within Edelman and involvement in driving large, integrated client projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Client Delivery: You’ll lead and contribute to employee engagement projects for large global brands in a fast-paced environment; lead operational and financial performance of account teams; ensure quality work, effective processes, and client satisfaction; and thoughtfully counsel clients based on employee experience.
  • People Development: Supervise staff by mentoring, motivating, coaching, consistently providing feedback, conducting their reviews, and overseeing their professional development.
  • New Business: Capitalize on, and contribute to, the Edelman global network to serve and grow business; lead RFP response and pitching; and ensure that you and your team understand the general business strategy, products, and services offered by your clients, as well as issues relating to products, primary competition and general issues facing their industries.

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 8+ years of relevant experience in employee engagement, communications strategy, internal communications, human-centered design, cultural transformation, or change management.
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to manage large projects simultaneously, agency experience or awareness a plus
  • Strong understanding of how to build executive-level relationships, communicate with teams, and engage various client stakeholders
  • Track record of leading profitable programs that have advanced client business goals
  • Empathetic people manager, with the confidence, professionalism, and entrepreneurial spirit necessary to manage a team
  • Advanced writing, editing, and presentation-development skills; project management skills; and consultative skills (including effective questioning, critical thinking, and client management)
  • Passionate about strategic advisory client service, new ways of thinking and teamwork
  • Commitment to advancing the vision of the Edelman Employee Experience practice both internally and externally
  • Loves to pitch, present, and win new business
  • Based on the West Coast and interested in being a part of one of our vibrant work from office locations at least 60% of the time
  • Experience building and executing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) strategies
