This role will manage all accounting functions globally.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Act as a strategic business partner to senior leadership, offering financial insights and recommendations to support the achievement of organizational goals
• Ownership over all accounting functions across the global organization
• This position will report directly to the Chief Accounting Officer
• Responsible for accounting, revenue recognition, accounts payable, and payroll functions
• Partner with business and FP&A to understand new transactions and business evolution to evaluate accounting implications
• Ensure compliance with revenue recognition standards, including ASC 606
• Review revenue contracts and ensure proper accounting treatment
• Ability to implement and execute new process and controls in a changing environment
• Must have strong experience with developing, implementing and automating processes
• Ensure accounting system is set up to meet reporting requirements of business
• Lead the annual audit process, coordinating with external auditors and internal teams to facilitate a smooth and efficient audit cycle.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls and financial policies across the organization, mitigating financial risks and maintaining SOX compliance
• Control the month-end close process and the preparation and reporting of timely monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP; approve all monthly accruals and adjusting journal entries
• Manage the global consolidation process, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of financial results for multiple entities across various jurisdictions.
• Monitor foreign exchange impact on financial statements and implement strategies to manage currency risk
• Maintain compliance with City, State, and other local legislation with US and international offices
• Maintenance and preparation of supporting schedules for various balance sheet, income statement and cash flow accounts, including depreciation and amortization schedules, rent, prepaid expenses and accrued liabilities
• Lead and mentor a team of financial professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
• Provide coaching and development opportunities to enhance team members' skills and contribute to their career growth.
• Additional responsibilities and projects as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Combined 10+ years of relevant public and private accounting experience
• Prior experience in a finance/accounting role in a technology or media company
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Direct management experience of large team (ideally 20+)
• Experience restructuring processes and teams
• Proficient knowledge of Excel and other financial applications, such as Workday accounting software and Salesforce
• Strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills
• Hands-on individual willing to be immersed in all aspects of the finance function
• Proactive work ethic and ability to perform with minimal supervision
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.) in Accounting or related field
• CPA required

New York Applicants: The salary range for this position is $186,900 - $320,400. Actual pay may vary based on experience or geographic location.
