The Advanced Technology & Information Solutions Strategic Business Unit provides scientific, engineering and other experts that work with our customers to solve their hardest problems and advance state-of-the-art technology. Our data solutions professionals deliver enterprise processing, analytics, exploitation and management, as well as information technology hardware that provide actionable information for warfighters and decision makers. Vice President - Ground Systems and Services
Vice President and General Manager, Ground Systems & Services (GSS) will lead Ball's GSS Strategic Business Unit (SBU) which includes responsibility for program execution of ground systems development programs, operations & sustainment (O&S) programs and programs which provide engineering and scientific research services, analyst services and other services for customers. The role also includes leading all effort within GSS for being close to customers and profitability growing the business portfolio. All of these responsibilities aim to satisfy the objectives and goals of the operating and strategic plans of Ball Aerospace and the Corporation. This position reports to the President of Ball Aerospace.
What You'll Do:
- Serve as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT); ability to demonstrate a First Team mindset - prioritizing support of fellow leaders as top priority. Building trusting relationships with the ELT is the top leadership priority.
- Manage successful execution of the GSS business, delivering profitable growth and efficient operations.
- Drive organic growth of GSS business through development and implementation of growth strategies aligned with the Ball Aerospace strategic plan.
- Partner with GSS customers and stakeholders to achieve mission priorities and define next-generation capabilities.
- Lead a team of diverse professionals fostering engagement within an inclusive work environment.
- Lead the professional development of the GSS staff and provide appropriate growth opportunities and mentoring.
- Guide high priority business pursuits from assessment through proposal. Provide overall direction for all aspects of the pursuit, capture and proposal execution.
- Work collaboratively with the Ball Aerospace Strategic Business Units (SBUs) and Strategic Capabilities Units (SCUs) to gain synergy across initiatives in alignment with the Strategic Plan.
- Participate in the development of strategic planning, analysis, and decision making for expansion and growth of Ball Aerospace. Recommend objectives and long-range plans to achieve growth and financial profitability of the overall company.
- Ensure that all business is conducted using the highest ethical standards and in compliance with all applicable laws, statutes, regulations, company directives; live Ball's core values of uncompromising integrity, being close to its customers, behaving like owners, focusing on attention to detail, and being innovative.
- Interface with Ball Corporation executives relative to Ball Aerospace's integration into the corporate structure.
- Perform such individual assignments as directed; and maintain the professional competence, knowledge, and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
What You'll Need:
- BS/BA in related field plus 15 years or more related experience.
- Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
- 10+ years of experiencing working with US Government contracting or related organizations.
- A current, active TS/SCI security clearance is required.
- A solid understanding of GSS mission and operations with relevant industry and government relationships.
- Excellent communication skills to support interfaces with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to effectively interact with customers and governmental figures at the highest levels.
On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site five days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.

- Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor.
Verification that your current security clearance or government customer access meets the requirement for this position will be required.
Relocation for this position is available.
Compensation & Benefits:
- HIRING SALARY RANGE: The salary for this position starts at $240,000.00 and is to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
- Subject to business performance and recommendations of management, this role may be eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.
- Subject to business and individual performance, and recommendations of management, this role may be eligible to participate in a long-term incentive compensation plan.
