About the role:
The VP of Architecture will have a view of the software waterfront across all of SmartBear’s products, newer products that will be conceived and new products that will be acquired and integrated. They will be responsible to ensure that software built across product groups are not only architected to be extensible, interoperable, scalable and perform as expected, but also use approaches that foster reuse of code, services, and components across all groups. Mentoring and helping the architecture team achieve expected results as well as establishing a culture that fosters continuous learning and overachieving is an integral part of this role. This exciting new role will also be responsible for the architecture of the SmartBear Advantage capabilities. These are a set of integrations, service and components that are common and enable our end users to benefit from the use of multiple SmartBear products which are seamlessly integrated. We are seeking someone with strong technical and design skills to succeed on the job along with good leadership, communication and collaboration skills.Â
Responsibilities:
- Create the vision for delivering innovative, high-quality learning solutions that instil a culture of learning across all functions
- Develop and deliver new learning and development programs as required by the strategic talent needs of the business.
- Work cross-functionally to diagnose organization learning & development needs to support business growth and objectives.
- Identify and develop global tools and processes to deliver learning solutions to meet business and talent requirements.
- Develop and deploy numerous concurrent high-visibility learning programs that demonstrably improve our leaders’ abilities to build high-performing teams and drive results.
- Drive the roadmap to develop critical capabilities that enable our growth strategy - programs encompass, early career, high potential, people leadership and leadership development --with a core focus on developing manager capabilities
- Lead the design and implementation of succession planning and key talent review processes across Ring; partnering with stakeholders to execute talent success and professional career development plans and programs
- Design and develop enterprise level talent processes to support business strategy.
We are looking for someone who has:
- Strong experience and knowledge of various types of applications and technology stacks as they pertain to UI, API, Mobile, Infrastructure as Code, Data consumption @ Scale, AI/ML based analytics along with eep understanding of algorithms, coding, programming practices and languages including hands-on ability with one or more modern technology stacks
- Strong soft skills, including attention to detail, problem-solving and communication skills
- Proven ability to manage a team of experienced architects, strong leadership skills, ability to foster innovation and decision-making capability
- Proven ability to work with teams in a collaborative environment
- Strong technical leadership and decision-making abilities
- BS/BA required (preferably with a focus on technology)
