Engrain has transformed the way people find, lease, and manage properties. Engrain provides a holistic suite of B2B SaaS solutions built specifically for the real estate industry which provide stunning, unit-level map visualizations fortified with seamless API integrations that augment website experiences and property tech applications. Our revolutionary, unit-level map data and interactive visuals within our SightMap, TouchTour and Asset Intelligence product lines allow prospective renters to find the exact apartment that is right for them, and property owners and managers to maintain occupancy and bottom line revenue targets to stay competitive in this industry.
As our Vice President of Engineering, you will have the opportunity to strengthen the engineering muscle of our product organization. Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder of Engrain, you will be building and leading a team through the next stage of our product growth. Specifically, you will be at the forefront of building an online marketplace for our customers to order, receive and manage their portfolio of our exquisite B2B SaaS products. You will be working closely with our product owners, architects, developers, DevOps and Engineering staff, leading them through the realization of our significant digital transformation phase on which we are embarking in 2023.
What you'll do...
- Provide Strategic Leadership - You will work closely with our executive leadership team to help translate our company and product vision into a comprehensive and coordinated execution plan for the Engineering function
- Operational Leadership - Lead and grow our Engineering organization: You will expand, uplevel, and manage engineers, ensuring they have the key skills needed to execute our roadmap
- Grow the engineering organization - You will help us recruit and retain top talent to help us scale our teams. You will do all this by being a thought leader who is able to earn respect and trust and help grow even our most senior engineers
- Establish a culture of innovation using proven approaches and principles that can be "right-sized" for a scale-up company
- Continue and improve our engineering best practices/strategies that help drive forward the codebase quality, consistency, and reliability
- Work with cross-functional leaders in product, design, etc. to set aggressive but achievable timelines and targets for Engineering deliverables without compromising quality
- Provide the technical and people leadership needed to establish a high-functioning and accountable engineering organization across multiple locations and initiatives
- Collaborate effectively with other key stakeholders to ensure consistent communication and outputs across the company in alignment with the overall vision and strategy
- Manage the identification, selection, design, and execution of major projects through the engineering group
- Ensure that high standards of engineering process discipline, and materials management are maintained
- Ensure that engineering standards are consistently and uniformly applied and that appropriate engineering controls are in place and functioning
- Advise and influence the hiring decisions and partner with Finance to appropriately develop competitive comp plans as requested
Requirements
What you offer us...
- 12+ years of Engineering leadership experience in B2B technology companies, particularly SaaS
- Working knowledge of 5+ years hands on experience architecting/developing software and hardware product lines within highly complex technical infrastructures and scalable integrations
- Experience with continuous improvement, deployment and testing as part of the product delivery lifecycle
- Experience with the design and development of REST APIs
- A passion for people management. You love empowering and developing team members. You have a strong track record of creating team cohesion to enable the team to achieve great things. And you have hired, onboarded and managed both fully remote and hybrid team(s)
- A strong track record of collaborating effectively with other senior leaders across a company.
- You understand that growing and engaging your team is one of the highest ROI activities you can do as a leader, and you found innovative ways to consistently do this
- Experience aligning software engineering within a product-driven environment. You know how to set up and manage cross-functional engineering teams
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with both highly technical and non-technical teams
What we offer you...
- Salary Disclosure for Colorado: minimum base salary of $170,000-$200,000 plus bonus. Final offer amount is determined by factors including years and depth of candidate's experience, certifications, and skill set alignment to the job requirements
