The Role

As a Vice President of Engineering at Striveworks, you’ll be challenged – and trusted – to sit at the nexus of people and product; growing a high-performance engineering team, being a champion for and guardian of our unique Strive culture, all the while scoping and ensuring product ships on time.

Striveworks’ total compensation package includes a competitive base salary, annual performance-based equity grants, and a lucrative yearly cash bonus.

This position offers a self-directed hybrid work environment at our office in northwest Austin, TX.

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • 6+ years relevant experience
  • Excellence in the translation of high-level vision into concrete, measurable, and achievable engineering milestones
  • Excellence in the hands-on mentorship and professional development of both leadership and technical expertise
  • Comfort with some or all of our major development themes:
    • Everything as Code 
    • Cloud-neutral development 
    • Novel workflow orchestration 
    • Hexagonal, event-driven, microservice architecture 
    • Optimizing, deploying, and refining AI models and algorithms 
  • Comfort with cloud architecture: commercial cloud, OpenStack
  • Comfort being the interface between customer, product, engineering, and business development, as needed
  • Experience in machine learning
  • Prior experience as a hands-on developer
  • Excellence in Python or GoLang 
  • Experience managing significant (multiples of the original team size) growth
  • Excellent project planning and communication skills
  • Driven, self-directed personality
  • Strong sense of mission and commitment to making a difference
