From FP&A and Payroll to Revenue, and Accounts Payable, the Finance & Accounting team is core to our business and spans around the globe from Detroit and the San Francisco Bay Area, to London and Singapore and many places in between.

About the role

StockX's Vice President of Finance is a key senior leadership position reporting directly to the CFO.  We are  looking for a senior, hands-on leader who can bring best practices across our strategic finance, FP&A and marketplace insights/analytics functions. As a late stage high-growth company, this role is essential to our continued success. The position includes developing and driving StockX’s planning and reporting processes, financial forecasts and analyses, as well as overseeing management reporting, business insights and KPIs.  A significant portion of the role also involves leadership of the business intelligence team, who partner closely with the various functions for data insights and analytics.

The Vice President of Finance will partner closely with StockX leadership on the Company’s international and category growth efforts, including being a thought partner on offerings, market analysis, pricing, and global operations expansion. The position will also work closely with the marketing organization on buyer/seller acquisition and retention drivers, and lead the BI teams to continuously develop and refine the underlying data sets. The successful candidate will have the skillset to play a broader leadership role in areas beyond finance and analytics, including partnering closely with the Revenue Management, Global Operations, Corp Dev, Investor Relations, Communications, Payments, Procurement, HR, Legal and Real Estate teams. The role will also drive various ad hoc analyses of critical business issues. 

The position will initially have a team of ~30 team members. While the role can be remote, the preference is to be in the Bay Area, CA or Detroit, MI.

What you'll do

  • Work with senior leadership to create multi-year operating plans and set financial objectives and key metrics in conjunction with the CFO 
  • Lead company-wide strategic planning, budgeting and quarterly target-setting processes, including weekly forecasts and key performance monitoring 
  • Lead weekly, monthly, quarterly management, Board and investor reporting processes 
  • Enhance management reporting and commentary that provides senior leaders with timely insights into trends, operational results, and growth drivers
  • Provide senior, strategic leadership for the business intelligence team, focused marketplace insights, analytics and reporting, partnering closely with Marketing, Business Operations, Operations and Finance
  • Leverage internal capabilities and industry best practices to bring innovation to systems and processes 
  • Build and foster strong cross-functional relationships across the business, while helping the Company’s leadership improve their understanding of their orgs, the Company’s performance and the broader competitive landscape 
  • Lead and inspire a team of finance and analytics professionals and build and execute against a vision for a global finance function supporting a high-growth public company at scale 
  • Oversee forecasting and modeling processes; deliver modeling/analytical support for strategic growth projects and other corporate development initiatives 
  • Partner closely with the Corp Dev team on all M&A activities 
  • Collaborate with IR and Comms teams and provide support for investors and analyst community
  • Drive and perform ad hoc financial analysis to support key business decisions

About you

  • Minimum 15+ years of relevant operational finance experience 
  • BS/BA in accounting, finance or equivalent experience; MBA preferred 
  • Previous investment banking, private equity or strategy consulting experience preferred earlier in career 
  • Significant industry experience expected in ecommerce / marketplace or Internet sectors and experience with global supply chain operations a plus
  • Public company experience a must 
  • Significant experience working and leading cross-functionally in a high-growth environment; M&A experience a plus 
  • Ability to interpret and summarize data with concise analyses and actionable insights to aid other leaders/functions in achieving strategic and operational goals 
  • Excellent verbal and written skills with proven ability to communicate effectively at C-level, Board of Directors and Audit Committee meetings 
  • Significant exposure and familiarity with international operations 
  • Outstanding business acumen and action-oriented leader who gets things done

Pursuant to the Colorado Fair Pay Act, the base salary range in Colorado for this position is $231,750 to $283,500 plus opportunities for benefits (e.g., medical, dental), equity and discretionary bonuses. Pursuant to the New York City Pay Transparency Law, the base salary range for this position is $278,000 to $309,000 plus opportunities for benefits (e.g., medical, dental), equity and discretionary bonuses. Compensation in other geographies may vary.
