Job Description

Bond Vet is on a mission to strengthen the human-animal bond through better pet care. We’re focused on urgent care, so we’re there for pets when they need us most. Our clinics are designed with pets and people in mind: warm, friendly, and highly sniffable. We balance this design with a strong focus on technology, all built in-house, which means we can easily innovate our systems to improve the veterinary team, pet, and client experience.

About the Role:

Bond Vet is building the next generation of veterinary clinics from the ground up -  and we’re looking for a motivated and experienced leader to join our team.

Our VP of Regional Medicine role reports directly to our Chief Veterinary Officer. It is this relationship that creates fundamental changes to operations and processes within our clinics, and brings awareness to issues that come up, with movement to resolve them quickly. It is through no small feat that we have grown to our current state, and are only seeking individuals who are passionate about the veterinary industry (prerequisite), and also those who understand the value of strong Doctor engagement, client experience, clinic performance and medical quality.

As the Regional VP of Medicine (RVPM) you will be the liaison between our clinics and the executive team by leading a team of Regional Medical Directors (RMD’s). Each of our RMD’s oversees and mentors a group of Medical Directors, who in turn lead their individual clinics’s Medical Directors (MD’s).  The RVPM would also partner closely with their Regional Operations counterparts to support strong performance. They would also develop a close working relationship with the Head of Medical Strategy as the point person for strategic initiatives, pilots, and cross-functional task forces.

The RVPM would possess excellent communication skills and multi-unit management experience; they would be adaptable and motivated to ensure a high standard of care and a positive workplace environment. The RVPM would also be expected to have a high level of financial literacy and know which levers to pull while coaching their teams to strong performance. The ideal candidate is inspired by mentorship.

What You’ll Do:
  • Act as a mentor to medical leaders, including the development of new leaders in all markets
  • Partner with Regional Operations counterparts  in creating high-performing business units and ensuring seamless clinic flow
  • Act as a thought partner with our Head of Medical Strategy in the creation, output, and maintenance of Bond Vet’s new initiatives, contributes to the development and implementation of new practice protocols and guidelines
  • Spend time on the floor to understand how we can continue to optimize clinic flow, medical quality delivery, clinic performance, and identify knowledge gaps across all positions
  • Lead the identification of internal talent, elevation, and development of RMD’s
  • Participates in talent acquisition efforts for Doctors and, when appropriate, HQ and support staff to ensure the recruitment of the highest caliber of veterinary talent
  • Acts as an ambassador of Bond Vet within the veterinary community and the public at large
 You Have:
  • 7+ years of experience in general practice, urgent care, and/or emergency medicine and specialty medicine
  • 3+ year of multi-unit leadership experience
  • DVM, VMD, or equivalent
  • State licensure that is in good standing OR eligibility for such licensure.  To include all states for clinics under supervision.
  • DEA licensure and CDS licensure if needed for all states for clinics under supervision.
  • Experience with training, mentoring, and developing veterinary students, interns, and/or residents
  • A commitment to mentorship and elevating the next generation of vets
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

We Offer:

  • Support for your physical and mental wellness: 100% covered health insurance, low cost dental & vision, access to mental health support programs and free memberships to One Medical
  • Time for you and loved ones: great PTO, fully paid parental leave, discounted Bond Vet services for pets
  • Dedication to your financial future: competitive pay, 401k match, commuter benefits
  • A place to grow: culture that is centered in learning and development, career pathing, mentorships, empowerment and trust

Our Values:
We’re obsessed with pets: The love we feel for animals drives us to do our best. We work with initiative, positivity and warmth to bridge the gap between human and pet, focusing on wellness to keep a better, stronger bond.
We work as a team: We’re knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about a better veterinary experience. We jump at the opportunity to help one another and seek out opportunities to team up on tasks. We’re all in this together - our team, pet owners, and the animal - and our success as a team hinges on all of us doing our best.
We communicate clearly: We speak up, we do what we say, and we’re transparent and honest. We value clear, simple communication.
We work happy: We bring a happy, positive attitude to work because it impacts the energy in the office.
We’re empowered: We’re building a new kind of vet experience, and every team member is empowered to try new things and own their decision-making.

We’re looking for people who are not just team players, but also leaders. If you’ve made it this far, you’re probably looking for something different than what’s already out there. So were we. Let’s meet.
— Dr. Zay, Mo, Lukas, and the whole Bond Vet team
