About the role
- Be a strategic advisor, bringing your strategic, negotiation and partnership management expertise to our organization
- Audit and evaluate our current partnerships, recommending adjustments or plans to ensure Yahoo receives maximum value with each partnership
- Work with Product, Engineering, and other leaders to understand priorities and roadmaps, then build the strategy for programs with new partner organizations
- Build joint program plans with our partners, including evaluation frameworks and end-to-end GTM plans with a robust set of goals, success metrics, and governance
- Partner with our legal team to develop custom partnership agreements and repeatable templates to grow to Yahoo Mail partnerships
Responsibilities
- Responsibilities include sourcing, evaluating, negotiating, and implementing partnership deals and initiatives for Yahoo Mail (Comms) business unit
- As Vice President of Strategic Partner Development, you will incubate and deliver partnerships with leading technology platforms globally
- You will build and lead a strategic partnerships team and partner closely with product, engineering, product marketing, legal, and executive leadership to implement partner deals aligned with Yahoo Mail's critical initiatives
- Lead and grow a team of strategic deal makers with responsibility to drive incremental growth through product partnerships
- Invest in and enable the team's success by modeling best-in-class negotiation and partnership development capabilities (including fluency in working on first-of-its kind agreements), driving internal alignment with key stakeholders, and delivering on strategic priorities
- Become an essential business thought partner to the Yahoo Mail product, engineering and product marketing orgs by encouraging deep relationships with executive partners, staying abreast of evolving partner landscapes, communicating untapped opportunities to internal decision-makers, and delivering value to the org through transformational partnership
- You will report directly to the General Manager of Yahoo Communications and be a part of the leadership team
Qualifications
- The candidate will have over 15 years of professional experience in the technology industry with over 7+ years of experience getting results through partnerships with well-regarded consumer internet, software and/or SaaS companies.
- Domain experience in consumer internet companies would be a distinct advantage
- Cross company coordination experience is required
- Relationship-driven with a strong dedication to collaboration and an established ability to build credibility across internal constituents, industry authorities, and external partners
- Ability to work across a geographically distributed and matrixed environment, motivating resources toward a common goal
- Highly effective communicator with proven track record of driving consensus both internally and with external partners; proficiency leading discussions around complex business decisions with executive leadership
- Take initiative with high degree of independence to identify and evaluate new business opportunities, build partnership strategy, assess market opportunity / competitive landscape, and develop financial / business models
- Ability to build high trust relationships, build a network of peers to gain market intelligence, and negotiate complex legal agreements with large, strategic partners

The compensation for this position ranges from $234,375.00 - $390,625.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives. Yahoo provides industry-leading benefits including healthcare, 401K savings plan, company holidays, vacation, sick time, parental leave and an employee assistance program. Yahoo has a high degree of flexibility around employee location and hybrid working. In fact, our flexible-hybrid approach to work is one of the things our employees rave about.
