dbt Labs has grown exponentially in the last few years and we are looking for a People Leader to help continue to build our team and our culture. As the Vice President of People, you will play a critical role in fostering culture, creating scalable processes, and supporting all People team functions.

This role will report into the CEO and be a member of the executive team.

In this role, you can expect to:

  • Leadership
    • Lead, strategize, and collaborate with the CEO and the executive team to create the vision and strategy of everything related to people.
      • Identify and implement ways to support the company’s mission through effective People practices
      • Advise and partner with the executive team on OKR / goal alignment, budget and workforce planning
      • Build relationships at the executive team level to act as a strategic business advisor of each business unit or specialty group regarding key organizational and management issues
  • Expertise
    • Identify strategies to retain, reward, and grow existing employees
    • Lead the performance management process to ensure focus on business goals and development of employee capabilities and potential
    • Translate the strategic business plans into people operations
    • Develop and implement strategies around the People function (including but not limited to): workforce planning, talent management, performance reviews, employee relations, organizational design, and the development of key talent.
  • Culture
    • Work with the management team to continue establishing the company’s culture
    • Participate in the development of the company’s plans and programs as a strategic partner, particularly from the perspective of the impact on employees and culture
    • Create and maintain the dbt Labs culture and values

You are a good fit if you have:

  • Values alignment and commitment to reinforce, live, and nurture our values internally
  • 10+ years of experience in People executive positions leading scaled teams with multiple reporting layers
  • Experience leading companies through dynamic, high-growth environments
  • Experience leading and navigating a complex and at times ambiguous organization
  • Track record of engaging, motivating & inspiring a global People team

You'll have an edge if you have:

  • Public company leadership experience
  • Knowledge of US employment law and associated best practices in navigating complex employer-relation issues.
  • Experience with international employment law.
  • Experience building, managing and developing international organizations
  • Analytical orientation in relation to employee experience
