ADP is hiring a Vice President, Product Development - Smart Compliance Solutions (SCS)
As the Vice President of Product Development, you would be joining us during a time of transformation and growth in our Smart Compliance Solutions (SCS) business that touch a range of solutions that include tax, wage garnishments, employment verification, unemployment claims and much more. In this role, you will be responsible for all product development for SCS's suite of tax products, including architecture, quality, design, operations, and release management. This leader will focus on delivering high quality, highly scalable, and performant mission-critical software applications through an API-first and services-oriented framework. One will lead product development that actively promotes and ensure more efficient models of product execution that balances velocity and quality in an agile environment while effectively managing shifting priorities.
In addition, we're looking for someone who understands legacy environments and has had real world experience of moving product and customers to a next generation set of products in the cloud as well as develop products in a cloud-native environment for the future of the business. This Vice President will work proactively with customer support, operations, sales, UX, product management and other key stakeholders to drive a holistic, end-to-end product into the marketplace.

Specific Responsibilities
- Develop the technology strategy and annual operational plan for the suite of tax products as well as the maintenance of the current-gen solutions. All program / project deliverables and timelines, including budget, will be executed and met with a high degree of quality.
- Proactively partner with product management to understand market needs and user requirements.
- Oversee the development and execution of the next generation tax platform and ensure that this product delights customers, is highly scalable, performant, and deliver to the market on-time within budget and at high quality standards.
- Lead cloud technology strategy and execution as we transform from current gen to the next gen tax platform and partner with the business to minimize business operations during this transformation.
- Increase engagement and collaboration with business stakeholders, development leaders from other business units, and clients / customers to capture functional and non-functional requirements.
- Position requires a leader who mentors great talent to the next level.
- Design and implement automated processes in order to eliminate direct/manual touches to the environments.
- Lead quarterly capacity planning to assure priorities (both functional and technical) have been resourced and have measurable KPI's to make incremental investment recommendations.
- Provide clear and timely communication to executive staff and key stakeholders / partners on program status and raise risks and issues early on in the program to allow the best decision and outcome to be made.
- Develop people strategy to ensure the right engineering and technology talent from delivering solutions meet current and future market demands.
- Promote and instill a high performing and engaging team culture that acquires, develops and retains talent at all levels within the organization and fosters talent management initiatives.
- Develop and effectively manage the financial budget for all expenses (including capitalization) associated with the platform and product lines.

Qualifications:
- Education: Technical/ engineering undergraduate degree; Master's degree preferred
- 15+ years of progressive technology leadership experience.
- Experience is deep in cloud applications, operations and optimization; has worked in the delivery of mission critical solutions to customers. Also, has led at leadership level a suite of products from legacy on-premise to SaaS, defining the technology roadmap and product roadmap in conjunction with product management.
- 10+ years of experience in building organizations with strong technical engineering skills with an emphasis in cloud developed applications.
- Advanced experience and management building solutions with a service-oriented approach to design and implement in the public cloud (i.e. 24/7 availability, performance, scalability, and monitoring).
- Understanding of multiple end markets from enterprise, to mid-market, and small business.
- Demonstrated experience in cross group collaboration models to design and deliver multi-tier architectural products and services.
- Demonstrated experience in driving a proactive, customer first culture and technology organization.
- Personal passion (and early adopter of) emerging technologies, committed to learning and expanding professional and technical knowledge.
- Demonstrated ability to present technical concepts, program updates, trade-offs and alternatives to an executive audience.
- Experience building successful teams in a global setting driving co-located agile processes.
- Advanced verbal, written communications and presentations skills to all organizational levels and the external market.
