Description:

Reporting directly to the Chief Product Officer, the VP of Product Operations is a key leadership role that will set the vision and define operational practices across Product and UX. This role is responsible for leading the strategy and efforts to drive operational excellence throughout the organization by setting up scalable processes, tools, and frameworks and partnering with cross-functional, internal stakeholders to ensure alignment of goals. As a key member of the Product leadership team, this role provides strategic and day to day support for the CPO including designing, developing, and implementing solutions to meet business needs founded on a thorough understanding of business unit strategies and objectives, the competitive landscape, and current and potential future business challenges.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the CPO and Leadership to design and build the most effective Product structures and processes  
  • Support Leadership in prioritizing what Product needs to be great at, then help influence the ways in which orchestrated investments in people, processes, and technology advance these capabilities
  • Clarify and oversee connection points within Product and with other organizational functions; operate as the connector who catalyzes relationships between Product and stakeholders across the company
  • Define the critical recurring interactions, inspection mechanisms, and decision rules to ensure strong project execution
  • Perform periodic assessments/audits to evaluate existing processes and identify areas of inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement
  • Develop standard operating procedures and maintain departmental systems and tools
  • Set prioritization for enhancement of tools, processes, methodologies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Build a knowledge center of key IP, methodologies, templates, and best practices along with a methodology to harvest the current best practices, IP, tools, etc.
  • Work closely with the CPO and Leadership to define the requirements that allow the organization to scale and root out inefficiencies and drive organizational change
  • Increase the quality, performance, and impact of the product experiences, and create, own, and scale the mechanisms that enable and measure these outcomes
  • Facilitate the flow of data into every phase of the product life cycle; enable and strengthen a culture of data-driven decision making; partner with cross-functional, internal stakeholders to identify metrics and track to key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Own the systems and processes that enable high-quality, data-driven decisions that inform product strategies, product roadmaps, and user experiences
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure standardization of and ability to deliver on roadmap items; create and manage mechanisms to facilitate progress reporting on roadmap item delivery and other initiatives
  • Ensure that Product is successfully capturing and acting on feedback from internal and external stakeholders
  • Partner with Engineering leaders to Identify and implement opportunities to continuously improve the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Build a team of high-performing Product Owners (POs) to define and execute tactical, functional requirements and work closely with the SCRUM teams

 Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of software experience, including leadership of product operations and engagement, with proven ability to lead and influence across functional and organizational lines
  • Demonstrated experience in operations for product & UX  best practices with a track-record of delivering and influencing product solutions
  • Experience driving operational best practices in a corporate environment
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale, global transformation projects and teams, in a fast-paced environment and a track record of inspiring rapid adoption of change in a matrixed organization with distributed live and virtual teams
  • Strong relationship-building skills and experience working closely with senior executives; ability to develop strong working relationships with other business functions quickly to operationalize key strategic initiatives
  • Significant experience leading complex, cross-functional projects with multiple partners
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively; anticipate problems and opportunities; develop and implement a vision
  • Effective change agent; can lead change, think out of the box, & make new ideas happen; ability to communicate vision and strategy
  • Outstanding leader and team player who is comfortable working on open-ended problems and creating priorities in an ambiguous environment
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field; Master’s Degree preferred
