Vice President, Production & Operations
Job Description
The Role
GTI is seeking a VP, Production & Operations to lead and oversee all aspects of cultivation and processing at operations facilities across our organization. You will direct a team of General Managers and Regional Directors in a network of cultivation and manufacturing facilities and have primary day-to-day responsibility for directing and managing all areas of manufacturing, operational strategic planning, meeting quality standards, enhancing the supply chain infrastructure, and improving upon SOPs and KPIs across all aspects of our ops business. The preference is that you will be based out of a Green Thumb operating state and requires 80% travel.Â
Responsibilities- Monitor day-to-day operations of the network , proactively monitoring performance and proposing solutions to address emergent issues
- Lead and motivate a diverse and geographically dispersed team of General Managers and Regional Directors
- Deliver innovative continuous improvement solutions to improve product quality, reduce manufacturing costs, produce more efficiently, and increase profitability
- Establish a robust set of SOP, KPI scorecard, and operating cadence for operations
- Lead monthly performance review of Operations with site leadership teams and executives
- Establish quarterly goals and objectives for General Managers, Regional Directors and functional heads and monitor performance to plan
- Partner with Finance and SVP of Operations to establish yearly budget and capital plan
- Develop an Operations strategic plan and operating plan aligned with overall business objectives
- Recruit, retain and develop an operations team with deep cultivation, manufacturing, supply chain and quality expertise embedded at all levels of the organization
- Provide and apply a current understanding of industry best practices, supplier network capabilities, and category/market trends to team members and business partners
- Ensure compliance with Federal and State regulatory requirements as well as ensuring compliance with Corporate, Health, Safety, Sanitation, Quality and other regulations
- Ensure that all tasks and functions of position are performed in a safe manner at all times and that all procedures and requirements are properly followed to accomplish assigned tasks
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent experience and tenureÂ
- Combined 10+ years of manufacturing operations experience in Cannabis, CPG, pharma, food, beverage, or other relevant industriesÂ
- 5+ years of leadership experience with a proven ability to strengthen and guide a teamÂ
- Experience leading multi-site operations
- Broad knowledge of standards of manufacturing technology, equipment, food safety, organizational development/management, finance and employee relationsÂ
- Understanding of demand planning, distribution and warehouse management, logistics and transportation, purchasing, and customs compliance experience preferred
- Strong background in lean manufacturing / six sigma, organizational architecture, food safety, finance and employee relationsÂ
- Adaptive and able to thrive in a demanding, fast-paced environment
- Must pass any and all required background checks
- Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry
- Must possess valid driver’s license
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
- Ability to be approved by state badging agency to work in cannabis industry
