Vice President, Research

Grayscale Investments is seeking a Vice President, Research to support the Firm’s Research Team.

The successful candidate will exhibit an intense passion for macro-economic and asset allocation focused research, a track record of producing high quality investment management research, and a well-reasoned perspective on the ways in which digital assets fit within traditional financial models and client portfolios.  

Responsibilities:

• Regularly author research reports focused on digital assets within the context of traditional financial strategic and tactical asset allocation models, global macro-economic events, inflation, and the interest rate environment
• Create a comprehensive research content roadmap for 2023 and work with key stakeholders to continuously iterate and update as needed
• Stay abreast of macro-economic events and be the first within the firm to highlight such events and their relation to the digital asset market externally (in the form of short form research and internally (to colleagues within the firm) 
• Participate in institutional and high net worth client meetings in which such matters are discussed specifically with relation to such clients’ pre-existing investment portfolios 
• Lead or participate in external knowledge-sharing sessions on such subjects via conference calls, webinars, panels, and fireside chats  
• Develop in-depth knowledge of Grayscale products and investment capabilities, and stay current on developments in the digital asset ecosystem
• Support new-product development and on-going product initiatives
• Provide on-going support to team members in addressing a wide variety of questions related to digital assets vis-à-vis ‘trad-fi’ 
• Assist with special projects designed to enhance Research Team capabilities 

Prior Experience/Requirements:

Bachelor's degree with strong academic achievement (Masters degree preferred but not required) 

• 12+ years’ total experience including 8+ years experience in macroeconomic and asset allocation related investment management research 
• Exceptional writing skills
• Passion for writing and content creation 
• Interest in digital assets, blockchain technology, and related concepts 
• Exceptional analytical skills
• Self-starter with a passion for learning
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and communicate complex concepts in writing
• Deadline oriented with the ability to assess and prioritize projects based on client needs (internally and externally)
• Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail, integrity, and sound judgment
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment by being collaborative, adaptable, reliable, and possess a strong ‘can do attitude’
