About the Role

Cockroach Labs is looking for a Vice President of Global Sales Enablement to lead our Sales Enablement Organization across multiple markets and regions. This will work cross functionally to improve sales productivity and outcomes by instituting best practices while developing and delivering best-in-class training, assets, tools, processes and communications across our global sales organization. The Vice President of Global Sales Enablement reports to the President and Chief Revenue Officer.  

The  Vice President of Global Sales Enablement will be a proven leader with exceptional organization, communication, training and process development skills. This person will have a strong track record of accelerating sales knowledge and comprehension for global sales teams. 

You Will
  • Design, create and implement a comprehensive sales enablement program (to include tools, processes, programs and accreditations) that ensures skill, knowledge and sales readiness of the GTM organization.
  • Improve time-to-competency while reducing time-to-revenue through the execution of a sales enablement program that includes new-hire onboarding and ongoing sales training.
  • Partner with GTM Leadership to identify knowledge gaps across the organization, conduct ongoing needs assessments, and roll out targeted programs.
  • Facilitate a highly engaging learning environment utilizing the latest technology and methodology, including case studies, simulations, role plays and other interactive methods.
  • Leverage Product Management and Product Marketing where appropriate, for content and share field input with these teams in order to optimize messaging and product direction.
  • Create and manage sales enablement tools and enablement materials that support the sales force in their revenue-generating efforts.
  • Evangelize a data-driven approach to the program, leveraging analytics and insights to design and measure enablement.
The Expectations

In your first 30 days, you will meet with key executives across the organization and understand their sales enablement needs and our sales processes. You will also spend time with the Revenue organization to better understand our general sales enablement processes and onboarding programs to determine needs to be successful. Most importantly, you will also begin to build relationships with various individuals and teams at Cockroach Labs to build trust and establish connections.  

After 3 months, you will be fully integrated into the team. During this time, you will also take ownership of the Sales Enablement team’s OKRs and communicate outcomes to the organization. You will identify short-term opportunities to make an immediate impact while leveraging your depth of expertise in designing revenue enablement initiatives and models across different geographies to start molding longer-term strategy and vision.

 You Have
  • Combination of 10+ years of sales enablement/sales training, enterprise sales and sales operations experience
  • 5+ years experience as a high-growth SaaS leader building and leading high performing Sales Enablement organizations
  • Experience working in an entrepreneurial, fast-changing environment that requires strategic thinking, resourcefulness, results-oriented decision making and commitment to excellence
  • An energetic and self-motivated approach to building relationships
  • Empathetic to the day-to-day life of an Account Executive, Inside Sales Rep, Sales Development Rep and Sales Engineers with a keen eye to prioritize projects that will positively impact the success of the sales reps
  • Ability to harness technology and learn development strategies that create impactful training, and engage the sales force creatively
  • A demonstrated ability to lead cross-departmental collaboration on strategic initiatives
  • Previous experience in a sales role is a plus
  • Experience building and managing sales development, sales and/or customer success onboarding programs
  • Proven excellent program management skills
  • The ability to motivate and align a team to a vision and manage effectively through change
  • Experience hiring, training and retaining high performance talent at scale
  • Strong presentation, verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience using sales technology such as SFDC, Clari, Chorus.io, Highspot, etc; an understanding of sales methodologies such as MEDDICC and Challenger Sales.
  • BS/BA degree or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to travel as needed

The annual anticipated base salary range for U.S. candidates for this role is USD $232,000 to $344,000, plus commission if a sales role. We set standard ranges for all U.S.-based roles based on function, level, and geographic location, benchmarked against similar stage growth companies. In order to be compliant with local legislation, as well as to provide greater transparency to candidates, we share salary ranges on all job postings regardless of desired hiring location.  Actual salaries may vary and fall outside of this range depending on factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, geographic location, skills, experience, and competencies. In addition, we are often open to a wide variety of profiles, and recognize that the person we hire may be less experienced (or more senior) than this job description as posted. Salary is one component of the Cockroach Labs’ total rewards package, which includes stock options, health insurance, life and disability insurance, funds towards professional development resources, unlimited PTO, paid holidays, and parental leave, to name a few! Salaries for candidates outside the U.S. will vary based on local compensation structures.
