Job Description

The Vice President of Security is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and management of the organization’s security vision, strategy, and programs. This executive role involves overseeing the protection of all assets, information, and personnel from potential threats. The VP of Security will work closely with other executive team members to ensure a comprehensive security posture that aligns with the organization's objectives.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive security strategies and policies to protect the organization’s assets, including product, platform, digital and human resources.
  • Lead the security team in the identification, development, implementation, and maintenance of security processes and initiatives to reduce risks, respond to incidents, and limit exposure to liability in all areas of financial, product and personal risk.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external parties to ensure that the organization receives timely information about security threats and trends.
  • Conduct and oversee regular security assessments, audits, and risk analyses to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with security standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage the budget for security operations and ensure the efficient allocation of resources.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and guidance in assessing and evaluating security risks and response strategies.
  • Serve as the key point of contact for all security-related issues, including crisis management and incident response planning and execution.
  • Foster a culture of security awareness within the organization through the development and delivery of security training programs for employees.
  • Stay abreast of the latest security technologies, systems, and practices to enhance the security infrastructure of the organization.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, Security Management, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in security management roles, with a proven track record of developing and implementing effective security policies and programs.
  • Strong understanding of information security principles and practices, including access control systems, product security, network security, incident response, and risk management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with senior management, external partners, and law enforcement agencies.
  • Professional security certification (e.g., CPP, PSP, CISSP) is preferred.
  • Strategic thinking and analytical skills to assess risks and devise actionable plans to mitigate them.
  • Strong leadership skills to motivate and guide the security team and foster a culture of security awareness.
  • Excellent communication skills for effectively conveying information to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Crisis management and incident response skills to handle security incidents effectively.

The posted pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the compensation for this position and is subject to change based on business need. To determine a successful candidate’s starting pay, we carefully consider a variety of factors, including primary work location, an evaluation of the candidate’s skills and experience, market demands, and internal parity.
For roles with on-target-earnings (OTE), the pay range includes both base salary and target incentive compensation. Target incentive compensation for some roles may include a ramping draw period. Compensation is higher for those who exceed targets. Candidates may receive more information from the recruiter.
